T-Aphoto. r. NeW firm starts Times-Advocate, January .28,„ 1971 The Happy Doubles Club held their January meeting Wednesday evening in the church basement with thirty attending. Donald Bray opened the meeting with the call to worship, Facing The New Year. Scripture and the meditation was read by Mrs, Glen Stewart. Prayer and a reading, Take Time For Ten Things, was given by Mrs. Donald Bray. Vocal solos by Mrs. Gary Morris accompanied by her father Al Parrott, London, were enjoyed. A poem, What Is Success, was read by Glen Stewart and Mrs. Stewart closed the worship with prayer. The new president, Mrs. Edwin Miller, took charge of the business and the secretary- treasurer, Mrs. Jack Stewart, 64 read the minutes. Roll call was answered by the paying of fees. It was decided to have a class for grades 1, 2 and 3 during the church service and to hold a bowling party in February. Glen Stewart introduced the guest speaker for the evening, Al 4 Parrott, who spoke on Estate Planning. He was thanked by Donald Bray, A biblical contest was then conducted by Glen Stewart. Morley and Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Johnson to dinner at Campbell's Restaurant, London, Friday evening on the occasion of their wedding anniversary. Frank Parkinson, who has been a patient, at Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, is now residing at Kingsway Lodge, St. Marys. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Kirkham, Mitchell visited Friday with Mr. & Mrs. Cleve Pullman. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Adams, London were Sunday guests of Mr. & Mrs. Alton Neil. Mr. & Mrs. Earl French and Mr. & Mrs. jiamilton Hodgins attended the annual dinner and meeting of Middlesex County Federation of Agriculture, Friday evening at Ilderton. Mrs. Arvid Beitans and Martin left recently for Edmonton, Alberta until the end of June. Martin is attending Evelyn Unger School for language and learning development. Mrs. Beitans is assistant teacher in the same school. Mr. & Mrs. Allen Hodgins and Mark and Grant Hodgins were 'Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Hodgins. Wednesday guests with Mr. & Mrs. E. Ferguson were Mr. & Mrs. Clayton Ferguson and Ruthie, Ilderton, Ross Hem and Mr. & Mrs. Keith Hem and Joan, Zion. The elreains of a couple of young English natives are beginning to take shape. Early in October, a newly Organized firm known as MG Mould took over a small Manufacturing space at the old Grand Bend airport property.. Operated by partners Roger Parrington and Ray Smith, the new firm is manufacturing plastic injection moulds for the automotive and toy industries, Farrington came to Canada from England in 195/ while Smith arrived about five years ago, In recent years the pair have CONGREGATIONAL MEETING Twenty seven adults attended the annual Congregational meeting Thursday evening. The reports were well received. Murray Dawson and Jack Duncan retired from the board of stewards. Jack Borland and. Wayne Rowe are the new stewards along with Ray Cann, Barry Jeffery, I3ev Alexander and Lorne Ballantyne and Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne. Jack Stewart and Wilfred linnkin retired as elders, Floyd Stewart and Donald Kernick are the two new elders along with Glenn Jeffery, Reg Hodgert, Lorne Passmore and Arnold Cann who was elected as the clerk of session, The ladies served lunch. PERSONALS Mr. & Mrs, James Anderson and Mr, & Mrs. Gordon Stone attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Howard Snell at the Beattie Funeral Home, Clinton, Friday afternoon. Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Passmore are visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Mort Caswell, London. • Rev, Harold and Mrs. Dobson, Grand Bend, were Sunday evening guests with Rev. Stewart and Mrs. Miner. The officers are: president, Debbie Riddell; vice-president, Susan Grigg; secretary, Janice Tiernan; treasurer, Scott Boyle. The group sold Christmas trees to raise money for the Mentally Retarded Association. Monday was games night. The program, Under Attack, found Roy Stevenson from S.H.D.H.S. in the chair with Jack Riddell as moderator. Others who have been under attack are Rev. Bruce Guy and Bruce Perry. A snowmobile party is planned for February. EUCHRE A euchre party was sponsored by Dashwood W.I. with 12 tables playing. Those winning prizes were: ladies high, Mrs. Marie Beaver; mans high, Mrs. Jack Schade; low scores, Mrs. Melvin Stade and Stuart Wolfe; lone hand, Keith Maier. PERSONALS Mr. & Mrs. Bob Hoffman spent the weekend at Guelph with Mr. & Mrs. Bub Desjardine. Mr. & 'Mrs. Jim Hayter accompanied by Charles Tieman, Exeter, spent the weekend at Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, with their son, Jim.
