For these discussions I had the
privilege of having for a leader,
the General Director of all C.S.B.
in Canada and the U.S.A., Tom
Swan.
Also attending the convention
was one of the world's leading
Christian Scientists, Dr. Robert
Carter, This man knew the great,

personally. Dr. Carter was th.e
man who invented the laser
crystal which is being used in the
NASA Space Program.
There was a great sports
program in which we used such
facilities as an indoor swimnaing
pool, a spacious gym, anti an
outdoor skating rink.
All in all, I had a great time and
I look forward to serving our
battalion as a better leader with
greater leadership capabilithes.

Exeter area schools will
participate in a survey designed to
help create the most suitable
types of post-secondary school
education in emerging vocational
and occupational structures.
Students from Grades 8, 10,
and 12 will be used in the survey,
said D. J, Cochrane, Huron
County director of education.
Selection of the Exeter area
was made by Education Minister
William Davis, who said two
well-known Canadian sociologists
-- Professors Bernard Blishen and
John Porter - are employing
scientific sampling methods
Which will make it possible to
achieve a representative picture
of the situation in the entire
province.
StudentS will be asked to
complete a questionnaire and one
Other test. No sehool records
Other than home addresses Will be
used.
The addresses will permit the
sociologists to interview
agreeable parents of a sub-sample
group. Mr. Davis said in his letter
to Mr. Cochrane.
The minister believes the
vocational and occupational areas
are of Major significance at the
present time and n definite policy

To obtain this, more
information is required about
how students at thevariouslevels
in the school system perceive
opportunities beyond the high
school level.
