choose club leaders

ELIMVILLE
The January meeting of the
Elimville Women's Institute was
held Wednesday afternoon. The
lunch committee served soup and
sandwiches before the meeting.
Roll call was answered by
"Suggestions for the Town Hall
kitchen." The new club leaders
for the next project "Separates
for Summer" will be Club 1: Mrs.
Wm Morley, Mrs. Emerson
Penhale; Club 2, Mrs. Ed Johns,
Mrs. John Batten; Club 3, Mrs.
Dan Coward, Mrs. Wayne Prance.
It was decided to serve the
'birthday luncheon and put on the
program for Huronview in
August. The next Institute euchre
is to be held Monday, January 25.
The "Red Cross" course to be
held at Elimville United Church
commencing January 28 is still
available for more participants. It
is an eight week course held every
, Thursday evening commencing at
8 o'clock, weather permitting.
The February meeting of the
Institute is a dessert meeting, the
dessert to be served at 1:30 and
meeting to commence at 2 p.m.

presented the mothers with gifts
to Mrs, Bob Hern for Miss Linda
Hem, Mrs. Wellington Brock for
Miss Karen Brock for achieving
4-H County Honors and to Mrs.
James Miller for Miss Betty Jean
Miller, to Mrs. Wm Morley for
Mrs. Janice Brock, to Mrs. Ross
Skinner for Miss Brenda Skinner
for receiving provincial honors in
4-H work.
The program "Public
Relations" was chaired by Miss
Ruth Skinner. Some New Year's
Resolutions were given by Miss
Skinner. Mrs. Gilbert Johns gave
the motto "Don't waste time
looking at your hill - climb it."
Mrs. Eric Clayburn presented the
topic "Women Liberation" and
she conducted a questionnaire
with a panel of ladies.
EUCHRE WINNERS
The Elimville Euchre for the
Women's Institute was held last
Monday evening with seven
tables. Winners for the evening
were: ladies high, Mrs. Alvin
Cooper; gents high, Mr. Laverne
Skinner; lone hands, Mrs. Hazel
Coward; lucky serviette, Mr.

couple of days last week with Mr.
& Mrs. Jerry Rannie and family of
London, prior to their moving to
their new home in Brantford this

at Cromarty

Mrs. James Miller was hostess
for the January meeting of the
Cromarty church Ladies' Aid.
Devotions were led by Mrs.
Mervin Dow and Mrs. Gerald
Carey.
Reports were given by the
secretary Mrs. Laverne Wallace
and the treasurer Mrs. Mervin
Dow.
During the business period,
plans were made for a strawberry
supper in June, and for layettes to
be handed in at the March
meeting. A bale will be packed
later in the year.
Lunch was served by Mrs, E.
Allen and Mrs. T. L. Scott. The
remainder of the afternoon was
spent quilting.
CUBS HAVE NEW MEMBER
Yellow sixer, Steven Quance
led the grand howl at the weekly
cub meeting. A new member, Bill
Smale, was welcomed and '
received a first Cromarty Badge.
Judy Jeffery and Rae Butson
inspected the Cubs for proper
attire and Mr. Jarvis showed how
to put on a neckerchief. The
leaders explained the Star
requirements.
