Boston took a 5 point lead in
Novice house league as they
defeated the Black Hawks by
7,2. Captain Brad Taylor scored
four, Darrell Prezcator two and
a Paul Van Gerwen a single for
Boston. Danny Bell was the lone
marksman for the Black Hawks.
The Canucks also defeated
their opponent Road Runners
7-2. This win put them three
points from second place. Randy

Fisher got four goals, Dave
Atthill two, and Brian Mercer
got a single. Randy Parsons and
Tony Mattucci each scored once
for the Road Runners.
The Seals increased their lead
to four points as they defeated
the Blues 4-3 in a. very close
game. Morley Obre scored two
goals, Brian Clarke and Perry
Pooley singles for the Seals. Ken
Pinder, Paul Shapton, and Paddy
Pfaff scored one goal each for
the Blues.
The last place Boston took a
9-2 set back in the other Pee
Wee houseleague game. Howard
Schenk scored a "Hat Trick"
and his two teammates Jim
Webb and Steven Baynharn got
two each, John Lindenfield and
Robert Pertschy got singles. Paul
Pooley and Tom Hayter got
singles for the Boston team.

The Lucan Irish gained an even
split in two OHA Junior games
over the past week.
Wednesday the Exeter Hawks
'were in Lucan and managed a 5-3
win over the Irish.
Thursday the Irish travelled to
Tavistock and gained a 7-6 win
over the Braves.
In Wednesdays game Exeter
outshot the Lucanites by a 43 to
37 score and picked up 9
penalties to Lucans 8.
It would seem to this writer
that the Hawks are not playing up
to their early season form and
that the Irish are beginning to
play hockey as a team.
Thursday night the Irish
brought home two points
defeating the Braves by a 7-6
score. In the last 3 games these
clubs have played to large crowds
and have never been more than a
goal apart at the end of each
game,
Dennis Carty Lucan's high
flying 18-year-old right winger
scored the hat trick to make him
The Exeter novice hockey club
continued their unbeaten record
in Shamrock minor league play
Saturday but they had a close
call.
Brad Taylor came through
with a third period goal enabling
his club to edge Lambeth 3-2.
Steve Skinner scored for
only three home games left in the
regular season before playoffs
begin.
Coach Glenn McFalls is
pleased with the team's play atthis
time and feels that barring any
injuries the Irish are in top form
for the upcoming playoffs,
Friday, Lucan plays in
Lambeth and on Saturday we
travel to Belmont then next
Wednesday Mitchell will be in
town. Be sure to pick up one of
the Irish booster pins at the
Arena.
Exeter in the first period from
Randy Parsons and Taylor scored
unassisted in the second period to
give the Exeter club a 2-0 lead.
Lambeth bounced back with
two quick goals early in the third
period. The Exeter club was
outplayed by their opposition
but got a strong goal tending

Newby Tire
The Dashwood Bears scored
two wins over the past week to
Move into a first place tie in the
Exeter and district Rec hockey
league.
The Dashwood team
outscored the Juveniles 9-4
Thursday night and edged the
Bank Boys 8.5, Monday night to
up their season point total to 15
and equal with the idle Newby
Tire club.
In other league play, the
Huron Park Plugs downed the
Bank Boys 4-1 to move into third
place with nine points. The Bank
Boys have seven points good for
fourth spot and the Juveniles trail
with two points.
Four Goal Effort
A four goal performance by
Bill Hoffman led the Dashwood
Bears to their 9-4 win ,over the
Juveniles. Chipping in with two
goals apiece were Mike Chandler
and Pat McKeever while Bob
Becker notched a single score.
Scoring in single style for the
Juveniles were Dennis Bierling,
Larry Skinner, Carl Wurm and
Brad Pryde.
The Huron Park Plugs got one
goal performances from Rick
Funston, Frank Boyle, Grant
Turner and Larry Brintnell as
they downed the Bank Boys 4-1.
The lone Banker goal came from
the stick of Bill Bourne.
Pat McKeever went on a
scoring spree, bagging no less than
four goals as Dashwood won over
the Bank Boys 8.5. Jim Morrissey
was next in line with a two goal
effort while single goals were
fired by John Becker and Gary
Grant.
Don Campbell's two goals
were best for the Bank Boys.
Scoring one goal each were
George Bruneau, Doug Ellison
and Earl Wagner.
Friday
performance from Jim Veri to
keep them in the game.
The local novice team travels
to Sarnia tomorrow, Friday
afternoon to meet Whitby at five
o'clock in the first round of the
Silver Stick North American
championships.

Boston ahead
