Reserve at Southampton by Mr.
and Mrs.ClarenceThomson.

Mr. & Mrs. David Wheeler
were Sunday guests with Mr. &
Mrs. Douglas Corsaut and
Jeffrey of London. Jeffrey was
celebrating his second birthday.
The father of Mrs. Duncan
McNaughton and Mrs. David
Holland, David Sheppard, of
Ailsa Craig passed away last
week. A basket of flowers in the
church, Sunday, were placed in
his memory.
Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Thomson
and family visited Sunday
afternoon with William
Armstrong of Lieury.

the eighty-first birthday of Mrs.

Church Women entertained the
ladies at Braemor Lodge,
Exeter, Saturday afternoon.

The Christmas banquet of the
Happy Doubles Club was held at
the Dashwood Hotel, Monday
evening with twenty in
attendance. All returned to the
church for a Christmas worship
service.
Bill Rohde opened the
meeting with the theme, 0
Come Let Us Adore Him,
followed by the call to Worship..
Scripture and meditation was
given by Mrs. Bill Rohde and the
Christmas prayer by Barry
Jeffery. A Christmas reading was
given by Mrs. Barry Jeffery and
Mrs. Rohde favored with a
reading and a piano solo. Mrs.
Alan McLennan i n her native
Norwegian costume sang a
Norwegian song.
Mrs. Rohde conducted the
business and it was decided by
vote to carry on the club
another year. Plans to go
caroling December 21 were
finalized.
Rev. Stewart Miner named
the officers for 1971: presidents,
Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Miller;
White gift service
held at Woodham
sec-treasurer, Mr. & Mrs. Jack
Stewart.
Lunch was served by the
committee in charge; Mr. & Mrs.
Barry Jeffery and Mr. & Mrs. Bill
Rohde.
WHITE GIFT SERVICE
The annual White Gift service
was held Sunday as a combined
service.
A pageant entitled, The
Question, was acted with
members of the Sunday School
taking part. Mrs. Edwin Miller
was the narrator.
Donald Kernick,
superintendent, called each class
to the front and each member
put their white envelope in a
manger of hay.
Rev. Stewart Miner closed the
service.
UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
The Christmas meeting of the
United Church Women was held
in the church basement with
Mrs. John Pym program
convener in charge of the
worship service. Mrs. Alvin
Passmore and Mrs. Edwin Miller
assisted.

The lively tunes were called off
by Jim Barrie and Jan Bylsma.
Tea and cookies topped it off.
The Bluevale Women's
Institute provided the
entertainment and refreshments
for the December birthday
party.
Family night, the residents
enjoyed a variety program of
song and instrumental selections
provided by Adam Wilson,
Watson Webster, Ruby Webster,
Albert Craid and Jim Medd.
Winners of Friday's bingo
included Mrs. Leyburne, Mrs.
Nickerson, Mrs. Rutledge, Miss
Helen Fischer, Jerry Collins and
Joe McGrath.
