ROSS SKINNER ELIMVILLE The Elimville Institute held a St. John's Ambulance Course at Elimville hall for the past eight weeks. The members were all successful in passing their exams and receiving their certificates. The instructor was Mrs. Jean Cann and the examiner was Mr. Carpenter of Exeter. The members were Mrs. Jean Lynn, Mrs. Hazel Miller, Mrs. Isabelle Fletcher, Mrs. Kay Blair, Mrs. Annie-Jean Johns, Mrs. Marion Skinner, Mrs. Shirley Cooper, Mrs. Leona Hem, Mrs. Marlene Hutton, Mrs. Marie Brock, Mrs. Marjorie Johns, Mrs. Dorothy Elford, Mrs. Blanche Johns, Mrs. Sharon Lynn, Sharon Batten, Jack Hem, Douglas Fletcher and Larry Lynn. YOUNG PEOPLES The Elimville Young Peoples and adult Bible classes had a film, No Reason To Stay, during the Sunday school followed by discussion groups. The young people's class served a noon lunch for all the families, the proceeds to sponsor their foster child. THAMES VALLEY RED CROSS The Thames Valley Red Cross Classes will be held at Elimville Church commencing January 28 and every Thursday night for 8-9 weeks. Classes will be 2-3 hrs. and members to be 16 yrs and over. There is no registration fee and names are to be left with Mrs. Ivan Brock, Mrs. Floyd Cooper or at Elimville Store. PERSONALS Helen Batten was on the bus trip to Ottawa last week with the tirade 10's from SHDHS. By MRS. HUGH MORENZ Don Baker spent the American Thanksgiving holiday 'weekend at the home of Sharon Regier in Detroit. Bill Morenz and Al Lavery visited in Belle River with Tom Russell on the weekend. Mrs. Mary Maxwell, Steven and Michael from St. Thomas visited on the weekend with the Schroeder family and Bruce Gibbs. Nancy Baker and her Grade 10 H.S. class had a school trip to Ottawa and Friday sat in on a session in parliament. Mr. & Mrs. Art Meininger spent the U.S. thanksgiving holiday with their sons Bob and Tom and families in Detroit. Mr. & Mrs. H. Morenz attended the funeral of their aunt Mrs. Amelia Brierley in Exeter, Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Murch of Petawawa visited last week with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper. Mr. & Mrs. Norman Jaques, Mr. & Mrs. Harry Jaques, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Wilkinson, and family of Zion were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. & Mrs. Harold Bell. Mr. & Mrs. Elgin Skinner, Cecil and Cindy of Islington visited with Mr. Everett Skinner and attended the funeral of their mother the late Mrs. Pearl Skinner. The Elimville Women's Institute euchre was held Monday evening at the hall. Winners were: ladies high, Mrs. Oliver Jaques; mens high, Mr. Floyd Cooper; lone hands, Mr. Donald Parsons; lucky cup, Mrs. Eber Shute. Groceries were won by Mrs. Ron Fletcher. 4 I Two injured at Brinsley By GORDON MORI,EY Two cars involved in an accident east of Lieury on Sunday afternoon were extensively damaged. A car leaving Lieury United Church driven by Mrs. Bill Thompson collided with one driven byMartin Steeper travelling east. The Steeper car ended up in Bill Amos's field after the impact. The drivers were rushed to hospital for treatment. The United Church Women of Brinsley held their monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Earl Lewis, on Wednesday evening. Mr. & Mrs. Roy Leckie of Belle River visited with Mr. & Mrs. Earl Morley. Local lady in hospital MT. CARMEL Mr. & Mrs. Kerr Marshall and boys of St. Thomas and Nora Hall, Windsor, spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. John Hall. Ursula Schmitte of Stratford Teachers College is practice teaching at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel school this week in Mrs. Glenna Tripps' room. Mrs. Gerald O'Brien is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mrs. Claridette Hogan returned home after a week in St. Joseph's Hospital last Sunday. Forty hour devotions will begin at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church December 6 with Rev. Father Sullivan as guest speaker. Speaker tells about drugs By MRS. IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Dashwood Men's club held a dinner meeting Monday with 41 present. Rev. Bruce Guy spoke on drugs and causes. He had reading material on display. PERSONALS Rev. Earl Steinman is a patient in St. Joseph's hospital, London, where he underwent surgery. William Beierling is also a patient there. Mrs. Vesta Miller and Bonnie Neeb attended a hair show at the Holiday Inn, Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Ford and family, Bolton, and Mr. & Mrs. John Brintnell, Jarvis, spent Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Hilton Ford. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and girls, Zion, were Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader and Sharon. Mr. & Mrs. Ron Braid and family have moved to Elmira. Mr. & Mrs. Wm.
