big scoring gun for the Jets
counting once in each ,period to
pick up a hat trick for his night's
work.
The game scoring opened at
9.57 of the opening period with
veteran defenceman Don
Urbshott blasting a slap shot
into the top left corner of the
Fergus net past former
Kitchener junior goalie Jim
Weber.
The Fergus club tied things
up for a short while on Fred
Kauk's score about two minutes
later. Proctor scored his first of
the night at 13:26 to put his
club ahead to stay as he tipped
in another blue line shot by
Urbshott. Jamie Robb started
the scoring play.
The second period wasn't a
minute old when Bill White
scored what proved to be the
winner on a play started by Dick
Doughty and Ron Cauduro.
Two minutes later Proctor
was back on the scoreboard as
he completed a successful play
with the high flying Jamie Robb.
At the halfway mark of the
middle session Walt Parkinson
finished off a scoring effort with
defenceman Ron Cauduro, The
final two goals of the second
period came on three-way
passing patterns.
Barry Irwin notched the first
with help from Doughty and
Cauduro while Doug Galloway
finished off his goal with the
help of line-mates Jacques
Cousineau and Steve Storey.
Cousineau was filling in on this
line at centre for playing coach
Jack Nairn who was not in
uniform.
The final Fergus scoring play
came early in the closing frame
with Doug Wiltsie hitting the
mark with the Jets playing a
man short.
' Barry Irwin fired his second
goal of the night at 10:16 when
he tipped Bob Lashbrook's drive
from the right point. It was Bill
White from Dick Doughty four
minutes later and in the last
minute of play in the game Steve
Proctor and White fired shots
that found the mark. Jamie
Robb and Steve Storey assisted
on the second last goal and
Doughty and Cauduro helped on
the final score of the lopsided
contest.
The jets took six of the
eleven penalties called with
majors going to Bill White and
Barry Irwin.
