November 15 with 24 members
present. Quiet music was played
by Pamela Rodd and everyone
repeated the messenger motto.
Paul Brine read the scripture
Parkinson gave the call to
worship.
Readings for Armistice were
given by Mrs. Margaret Baker and
Mrs. Oliver Baker and Mrs. Nelson
Baker.
Mrs. Oliver Baker introduced
the guest speaker Mrs. Stewart
Miner and was thanked by Mrs.
Jim Miller,
Mrs. Ken Parkinson conducted
the business and every member
introduced their guest. Articles
for a layette were brought in and
displayed.
after which Margaret Parkinson
led in prayer. Calvin Rodd gave a
reading and David and Susan
Spence favored with a duet.
A film on selfishness was
shown and Mrs. G. Copeland
presented the study book.
Stephanie Hartwick and Christine
Tomlinson took up the offering.
Members decided to have a
mitten tree and members are
asked to bring their mittens
before the next meeting.

Barbara Kerslake was the
recipient of several awards at the
commencement exercises at
Seaforth D.H.S. last Friday night,
Barbara received the G. A,
Whitney award, a cedar chest, and
the C. M. Smith Memorial trophy
for having the highest marks in
the school as a grade IX student
last year. She received also the
Seaforth Teen Twenty award,
valued at $100, for the highest
average during the school year.
Valeria McPhail, Cheryl Riley
and Marilyn Laing presented a
demonstration, New Life for Old
Skirts at the 4-H Achievement
Day which was held in the
Mitchell Secondary School last
Saturday. Dianne Miller of Staffa
received honoors for completing
six projects.
