A youth service was held
Sunday morning with Elinwille
and Thames -Road churches
meeting together at Thames
Road.
The C.G.I.T. were in the choir
and sang three numbers, I3oys of
the Sigma C. ushered and took up
the offering.
Agnes Bray was the organist
and Mrs. Reg Hodgert was the
Pianist and choir'leader.
Gayle Johns and Bradley Cann
read the scripture lessons.
Initiation of the new Tyro
members was read, by Murray
Stewart, The leaders are Howard
Pym and Donald Bray, The boys
initiated were Gerald Johns, Lee
Hodgert, Kevin Hem, and Steven
Kerslake.
Initiation of new Explorer
members took place. Mrs.
Stewart Miner is the leader. The
girls initiated were Lori Lynn
Stewart, Pauline Pyrn, Sheila
Penhale, Gayle Johns and Elaine
Pym.
The sermon, in story, was told
by Patricia Miner.
Rev. Stewart Miner concluded
with the benediction.

died November 11 in her 71st
year. She is survived by her
husband Emerson, four children
and several grandchildren. Mrs.

Triebner, Mrs. Lloyd Jones and
Mrs. Myrtle Passmore attended
the funeral Saturday.

Centre in honor of the golden
wedding anniversary of their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Preston
Dearing, RR 1 Exeter.
Preston Dearing and Charlotte
Rice were married in Trivitt
Memorial Church by the Rev. A.
A. Trumper fifty years ago. They
have farmed in the Exeter area
ever since, and Mr. Dearing has
won renown for the Dorset
Horn sheep he raises and
exhibits at national and
international fairs.
daughter Miss Mamie Borland, a
postal employee and does the
shopping and housework.
A hobby she follows is
knitting clothing for dolls which
she donates to different groups.
Mrs. Borland has two nephews in
Crediton, Lorne and Roy
Finkbeiner whom she visited four
years ago.

readings. A quartette of Mrs.
Margaret Buxton, Mrs. Joyce
Preszcator, Mrs. Roxie Weber and
Mrs. Doreen Browning and
accompanied by Mrs. Lois
Hodgins sang several numbers.
Wayne Shapton played a piano
solo and old tyme music supplied
by Norval Reid and his
companions which was enjoyed
by all.
Lunch including birthday cake
was served by the north group.

Sunday was Laymen's Day at
Zion United Church. Ed
Hendrick was chairman for the
morning service, and a men's
choir sang under the direction of
Rev, Douglas Warren. Guest
speaker was Stewart Berlett,
businessman from Islington; his
theme the necessity of thanking
God in every situation.
Sunday evening Rev. Douglas
Warren conducted the service at
the Blue Water Home, Zurich.
Members of the choir
accompanied him to lead the

They have one son, Gerald,
and four grandchildren.
At the reception, grandsons
Preston and Peter were in charge

Woodstock and local districts.
Granddaughter, Ann Dearing,
served the wedding cake.
The couple received many
cards and gifts including a floral
arrangement in the shape of a
lamb.
Greetings were received from

Stanfield, Honorable Charles
MacNaughton and MP Robert
McKinley.
