Exeter United Church,
decorated with candelabra and
floral arrangements, was the
setting for the marriage of Karen
Margaret Jermyn and John
Clifford Sanborn November 7,
1970.
The bride is the daughter of
• Mr. & Mrs. R. D. Jermyn, Exeter
and the groom's parents are Mr. &
Mrs. Thomas D. Sanborn, R. R.
3 Ilderton, Rev. Glen Wright
performed the double ring
ceremony. Robert Cameron
presided at the organ and
accompanied the soloist, Glen
• Kimball.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, looked lovely in an
empire styled gown of white
lagoda with wedding ring
neckline and lace yoke and panel
continuing down the front of the
gown to the hemline. The full
ge cathedral length train was
embroidered with lace on either
side to match the front of the
gown. A full length French
illusion veil was held in place by a
headpiece of lagoda rosettes. She
carried a bouquet of white roses,
stephanotis and ivy.
The maid of honor, Nancy
Kyle, and bridesmaids Helen Cole
and Margaret Sanborn, sister of
the groom, were gowned alike in
floor length gowns of moss green
velvet with mint green chiffon
bodices and sleeves. Moss green
lace and hot pink velvet ribbon
N were used for trimming. Their
bouquets were nosegays of white
rosebuds and pink baby's breath.
Rea, Finnen as ring-bearer
and Shelley Finnen as flower girl
were dressed alike in full length
moss green velvet with lace
• trimming similar to the
bridesmaids'. Shelley carried a
tiny nosegay similar to the
bridesmaids' and Renee's pillow
was decorated with a miniature
rosebud corsage.
Jim Lindsay was groomsman
and ushers were Ed Valenciuk
and Douglas Jermyn, brother of
the bride.

church hall, the bride changed to
a beige dress and autumn brown
coat with black accessories.
The couple will reside in
Sarnia where the bride is on the
staff of Hanna Memorial School
h and the groom is with Ontario
Hydro.
Prior to her daughter's
marriage the bride's mother, Mrs.
R. D. Jermyn entertained friends
and relatives at a trousseau tea at
her home on Riverside Drive
Exeter. The bride was also
brkionored at showers at Mrs. G.
Jermyn's home in London, Mrs.
Alex McBean, Mooretown, Mrs.
James Finnen, Exeter, and Miss J.
Conway, Sarnia. The staff of
Johnson Memorial, where the
bride had taught previously also
4,, entertained her at a noon
luncheon.
McClymont - Russell
Baskets of white mums
daisies and ferns formed the
setting at Cromarty Presbyterian
Church, when Margaret Jean
Russell, daughter of Mr. & Mrs.
Wesley Russell, R.R. 2, Staffa,
became the bride of Ivan James
McClymont, son of Mr. & Mrs.
Fred McClymont, Varna,
recently. Rev. W. Jarvis was
assisted by Dr. Anne Graham in

The 56th annual convention
of London area of Women's.
Institutes was held in Central
U. C., Stratford last week. The
London area is the combined
districts of Elgin, Middlesex,
Oxford, Huron South, Huron
West and Perth South. The total
registration was 417.
Mrs. Harry Strang, Exeter,
convener of resolutions for the
area, brought in five resolutions.
One was lost and four were
sustained.
One of those sustained was
that the F.W.I.O. request the
Department of Transport to
make the wearing of luminous
vests, hat covers and gauntlets
compulsive by traffic officers on
duty, and highway and
construction workers on public
roads working after dark.
Another resolution sustained
was that the F.W.I.O. do
everything possible to see that the
foods bought in stores are fresh.
Dr, Ethel Chapman, author of
From a Roadside Window and
Humanities in Homespun, and a
former editor of Home and
Country, was guest speaker.
Both Mrs:, Anstin Zoeller,
F.W.I.O. president, and Miss
Helen Meicercher, director of
the Home Economics branch,
brought in stimulating reports.
Mrs. Charles Monroe of Embro
was elected president, and Mrs.
Norman Coulthard, R.R. St,
Pauls, was elected board member
for subdivision 22. Mrs. Ed.
Larnport, ,R.R. 2 Centralia, is
the.convener of the Agriculture
and Canadian industries standing
committee.
Each year a collection is taken
at the convention for the War
Memorial Children's Hospital,
London. This year the amount
contributed was $136.73.
The women were told that
$32,000 of $50,000 has been,
raised for their 75th anniversary
fund. Money will go to the
MacDonald Institute, Guelph.

Resolutions sustained at WI annual convention
performing the double ring
ceremony.
Mrs. John Scott played the
wedding music and accompanied
the soloist, Mrs. Don Andrews.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride wore a lagoda
gown trimmed with guipure lace.
The chapel train fell from the
waist and was trimmed with
matching lace. A floral cluster
held her three tier illusion veil
and she carried a pink throated
white orchid surrounded by
assorted flowers.
Maid of honor, Ruth
Campbell, and bridesmaids, Mrs.
Nick Whyte and Margaret Perry
were gowned in shocking pink
silk peau de soie. The bodices
were trimmed with tiny
matching buttons, and rosebuds
of the dress material were worn in
their hair. They carried cascade
bouquets of miniature variegated
pink carnations, baby's breath
and velvet streamers.
Kelvin Jervis was best man
and Hugh Scott and Robert
McClymont ushered the guests.
Ross Kercher was master of
ceremonies at the wedding
dinner at the church parlours
and the reception at Hensall
Community Centre.
The bride changed to an
off-white wool ensemble with
brown trim and accessories.
The couple will reside on the
groom's farm, Varna.
Prior to the wedding several
showers were given in the bride's
honor by: Ruth Campbell,
Margaret Perry and Ruth Knox,
Mrs. John Scott and Mks. Filmer
Chappel. The bride's mother
entertained at a trousseau tea in
honour of her daughter.
