It is the request of the Council and Road Super- intendent of the Township of Hay, that farmer's refrain from turning onto Township Roads, with farm machinery, upon leaving their fields. Your co-operation in connection with this matter would be greatly appreciated. To The Farmers of the TOWNSHIP OF HAY District deputy president Mrs. Lois McFalls and her installation officers and guard of honor of Pride of Huron Lodge, Exeter, were guests of Amber Rebekah Lodge Hensall, Wednesday evening, and installed the officers. Noble Grand Mrs. Grace Thompson was assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs. Myrtle Taylor. Arrangements were completed to attend the banquet in Exeter Monday evening in honor of the assembly president Miss Audrey Miller and D.D.P. Mrs. Lois McFalls; and to attend the meeting in Brussels Lodge, Tuesday evening. D.D.P. Mrs. Lois McFalls was presented to the Lodge by Jr. • P.N.G. Mrs. Maggie Campbell. • • The commission was read by Mrs. Elaine Skinner, Exeter. The following officers were installed, Junior Past Noble Grand, Mrs. Grace Thompson; Noble Grand, Mrs. Myrtle Taylor; recording secretary, Mrs. Leona Parke; financial secretary, Mrs, Bertha MacGregor, treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy Corbett; warden, Mrs. Estella Jackson; conductor, Mrs. Aldeen Volland; chaplain, Mrs. Margaret Consitt; musician, Mrs. Evelyn MacBeath; color bearer. Mrs. Vera Lemmon. Inside guardian, Mrs. Eunice Aikenhead; outside guardian, Mrs. Olga Chipchase; R.S.N.G., Mrs. Margaret Eyre; L.S.N.G., Mrs. Maggie Campbell; R.S.V.G., Mrs. Margaret Ingram; L.S.V.G , Mrs. Irene Blackwell. Mrs. Elaine Skinner of Pride of Huron Lodge was soloist. D.D.P. Mrs. Lois McFalls spoke briefly and was presented with a gift by Jr. P.N.G. Mrs. Grace Thompson. Mrs. Irene Blackwell expressed thanks to Mrs. McFalls and her staff. Congratulatory remarks were expressed by Mrs. Bertha MacGregor and Mrs. Maggie Campbell. Following the degree luncheon was served by the social committee. UCW units hold meetings Mrs. James McAllister opened the regular monthly meeting of unit IV of United Church Women with the reading from Psalm 119. Mrs. Sim Roobol gave a very interesting devotional, The Diary of a Bible, and Mrs. Grace Harpole played a. delightful piano solo. The study was given by Mrs. Russell Erratt who spoke on the disciple Peter, using many biblical references. Mrs. McAllister conducted the business which consisted of reports on the recent regional meeting, the study for 1971 on The Americas, an invitation to the Anglican Church, Hensall, November 26 and visits to sick and shut-ins. Members were reminded that reports must be completed by the end of November. A bale will be packed November 10 and the quilting will start the same day at 9 a.m. * * Unit II, UCW met for a Remembrance Meeting, November 9. Mrs. Bob Brodie opened the meeting, and two minutes of silence was observed after which In Flanders Fields was read softly. Mrs. Harry Hoy presented the devotional called, Man and His God. Aninvitationwas received from St. Paul's A.C.W. for the Hensall U.C.W. to attend a meeting in the Anglican Church Hall at 8:30 November 26, Slides will be shown followed by refreshments. Guest speaker for the evening, Mrs. James MacAllister, very interestingly told of her trip to England. Remembrance service was held here Sunday under the auspices of the Hensall Branch of the Canadian Legion and Auxiliary 468. At the service at the cenotaph wreaths were placed for Province of Ontario, Mrs. Mary Taylor; Legion branch 468, President Paul Neilands; Legion Auxiliary, president Mrs. Vic Stan; Kinsmen and Kinettes, presidents John Baker and Mrs. Jack Drysdale. Village of Hensall, Reeve Oliver Jaques; Township of Hay, councillor Harold Campbell; Township of Tuckersmi th, Reeve Elgin Thompson; L.C.B.O. Zurich; Boise Cascade, Vic Stan; Girl Guides and Brownies, Patty Van Wieren, Rev. G. A. Anderson gave the invocation and the poem, In Flanders Field, was recited by Harry Horton. Scripture passages were read by John Skea, and last post reveille was sounded by Stephen Horner, a member of the Zurich Band. A parade of the Legion, Auxiliary, Guides and Brownies, headed by Exeter Legion Pipe Band marched to St. Pauls Anglican Church where Rev. Anderson delivered the message. A duet, Faith of Our Fathers, was sung by Miss Mary Goodwin, and Mrs. Pearl Passmore with Mrs. F. Forrest at the console organ. Banners wete carried for the Legion by E. R. Davis, and W. H. Bell; auxiliary, Mrs. Clarence Reid and Mrs. Ralph Fitzpatrick; Guides and Brownies, Gail Travers and Natalie Locki. Parade Marshall was Wilmer Dalrymple and Jim Taylor in charge of the color party. A hot dinner was served in the Eager buyers at Carmel bazaar The Sunday school room of Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hensall, was decorated with autumn flowers Saturday for the bazaar and tea sponsored by the Ladies' Aid. Booths of aprons, knitting, quilts home baking, vegetables, canned goods, plants, touch and take, were donated by the ladies of the church. The Sunday School had a booth of candy and various other articles. Afternoon tea was served by the Arnold Circle of the church. The bazaar was well patronized and patrons were welcomed by president Mrs. Clarence Volland. Legion Hall to members of the Legion, the Auxiliary and members of the band. St. Luke's Folk at United Church A contemporary service featuring St. Luke's Folk from St. Luke's United Church, Toronto, was held last Sunday at Hensall United Church. The group's leader, Rev. J. Anderson led the worship service assisted by Cathy Cook and Joan Goddard. The group, made up of 25 young people, guitars and banjoes, sang a number of popular folk songs. The Folk arrived Saturday evening and were billeted in homes in the community. They were treated to a hot meal by the Hi-C following the service. The church was filled to capacity and there were many young guests from the surrounding district present. The Hi-C's of the United Church are a very active group both within the church and in the community. Any teenager, regardless of his church affiliation, is welcome to come and join the group.
