Any boy or girl wishing to feed calves for the Hensall South Huron Agricultural Society contact any of the directors or secretary as soon as possible. In addition to the $4.00 prize money paid for each single calf according to township grant an additional prize of $6.00 will be paid by the fair board. Boys and girls will be permitted to pay for their own calves if they wish through the fair board. A limited number of groups of 4 will be available. Wm. Mrs. Gilbert Johns and Mrs. Lewis Johns had charge of the program. Readings were given by Mrs. G. Johns and Mrs. Howard Johns, Mrs. Harold Bell and Mrs. Ross Skinner sang a duet and Mrs. Miner led in prayer. Mrs. Johns introduced the afternoon guest, Mrs. Alvin Pym of Exeter, who showed pictures of a trip to Alaska. Blind canvass down 20% Eric Luther reports the canvass on behalf of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind is down about 20 percent from last year. The Hensall Kinette Club was pleased with the success of the annual fall rummage sale held in the arena Friday evening. Cartons of good used clothing, not sold, were given to the U.C.W, for a bale. Remembrance Day service Halloween passed off quietly in the village Saturday night with the children doing the rounds for tricks or treats as early as 5:45 p.m. They provided many laughs with their strange costumes and weird masks. All were well behaved and were rewarded with plenty of goodies. Ann Mickie, Toronto, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle. Miss Jennie Buchanan is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs. Alex McMurtrie of Toronto visited relatives in Hensall and vicinity during the past week. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Dailey of Sarnia were recent visitors with Speaks at science meet Robert Mickle of the University of Western Ontario recently attended the International World Conference of Scientists at Hartford, Connecticut U.S.A. He had been asked to present a paper at the four day conference which he presented at the Wednesday morning session and also conducted a question and answer period. There were four hundred and nineteen scientists present from all over the world. Bob flew down with one of his professors early Tuesday morning and returned by plane Friday evening of the same week. Family day at United Church Congregational family service was held Sunday morning in the United Church with Rev. H. F. ° Currie officiating. Scripture passages were read by Carmen Currie and Mrs. Currie gave the message on Christian Living Is a Family Affair. Tony Kyle gave a description of the Sunday School Live, Love project, The Thomas Crosby Boat. The Junior choir under direction of Mrs. J. Turkheim sang two numbers, and ushers were Kevin Wareing, Jeff Reaburn, Joan Forrest, Mary Blackwell. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker and Patsy. Mrs. S. B, Taylor of Exeter visited over the weekend with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Don Mousseau and family. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Holland and Gwen of Thamesford were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. James Sangster and Bradley. Mrs. Wm, Kyle, who has been receiving treatment for the past week at South Huron Hospital, returned to her home. Mrs. Susie Kipfer who has been a patient in South Huron Hospital returned to her home, Saturday. Mrs. Ralph Holland and Gwen of Thamesford are visiting this week with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Sangster and Bradley, Mrs. Margaret Tyndall, Brucefield was a recent visitor with Mrs. F. G. Bonthron. Melvin Traquair is a patient in South Huron Hospital. The Agriculture and Canadian Industries meeting of Hensall Womens Institute will be held in St. Pauls Anglican Church November 11. Roll call: Name a Famous Woman Who was Born on a Farm. Gerald Carey of Staffa will be guest speaker and a special collection will be taken up for the Childrens Aid. Decorate for bazaar, tea The Sunday School morns of Chiselhurst United Church were decorated in Halloween theme, Wednesday, for a successful bazaar, bake sale and afternoon tea sponsored by the United Church Women of the church. The bazaar was well patronized and was officially opened by president Mrs. Russell Brock. Conveners and committees in charge of the various booths were: Bake Sale, Mrs. T.
