KEN MCKELLAR CFi omAR TY Mr. & Mrs. Ken McKellar accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. W. N. Binning, Mitchell, were guests at a family gathering at the home of Mr. & Mrs. James Francis, Tavistock, Sunday. The guest'of honor was 0. R. Francis of Woodstock whose ninetieth birthday was observed October 25. Mr. Francis enjoyed good health and is an ardent lover of flowers, spending much of his time in his garden. His immediate family were all present as well as many grand children and several great grand children. His brother B. M. Francis and Mrs, Francis of Exeter were among guests. EVENING AUXILIARY The Marian Ritchie Evening Auxiliary of Cromarty Church entertained ladies from Staffa, Sea forth, Hensall, Exeter, Chiselhurst and Thames Road at their October meeting. Guests were greeted at the door by Mrs. Carter Kerslake and Mrs. Larry Gardiner; The guest speaker for the evening was Rev. Soper of Stratford, a former Missionary in China. Mrs. Gordon Laing was organist for the meeting and played selections- as the guests arrived. Mrs. G. Carey presided for the worship service and Mts. Wm. Taylor read the scripture. Mrs. Hazel Sadler of Sault Ste. Marie rendered two solos. The offering was received by Mrs. John Templman and Mrs. Lloyd Miller and was dedicated by Mrs. Robert Laing. Mrs. Calder McKaig made courtesy remarks. PERSONALS Mr. & Mrs. Calder McKaig visited with Mr. & Mrs. William Sillery, Exeter, after services at Caven Church. Mr. & Mrs. Roy McCulloch went to Stratford Monday night to hear Rev. Rex Humbard who was conducting a service there. Mrs. Elmer Scott died at Avon Crest Hospital Stratford Sunday. Mrs. Jim Miller of Cromarty is a daughter of the late Mrs. Scott By MRS. FRED BOWDEN CENTRALIA Autumn leaves, flowers, fruits and vegetables were arranged to form an attractive setting for the Thank Offering service in the United Church, Sunday morning. The Rev. Grant Mills, B.A. of Fullarton was the guest speaker and based his thoughts on the text, "So Whether you eat or drink do all to the Glory of God." In closing he reminded his listeners that you can't run away from God for the Kingdom of God is within you. The choir sang two numbers and Mrs. Russell Wilson sang a solo. The Offertory music was an organ and piano duet by Mrs. Hodgins and Marikay . PERSONALS Ray Laramie has been a patient in South Huron Hospital for the past week. Mr. & Mrs. S. Molnar were weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Matt Konrad in Dundas. Maureen, Jamie and Chris Hodgins of London spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins. Mr. & Mrs. Keith Hodgins, were Sunday visitors. Mr. & Mrs. Russell Schroeder were guests of honor at a family dinner in celebration of their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Sam Semple in London, Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Shoebottom, Danny and Mary visited over the weekend with Mr. Shoebottonfs mother, Mrs. F. C. Shoebottom in Parry Sound, and with his father in the hospital there.
