IRVIN RADER Mr. & Mrs. Ken McCrae and Mrs. Louella Tiernan returned home from an 18 day visit to England and Scotland; Harry Hoffman, who went on a later flight returned home Tuesday. In an interview, Mrs. Tieman said the only words she could think of to describe the trip were "Out of this world." She visited in England with Miss Donna Merner and Miss Elizabeth Bartliff and many interesting places in England and Scotland. Mr. & Mrs. Ken McCrae expressed much the same views. Ken saw many changes since he served in the Canadian Army 25 years ago. They went on a 12 day conducted tour of England, Wales, and Scotland. While in Scotland theymissed worshipping in Crathie Church with the 4 Kellerman led in prayer and Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan read an appropriate Thanksgiving story. Guests from Grand Bend, Mrs. Jack Eagleson and Mrs. Wm. Brenner, gave a summary of their experiences while attending Alma College school. The theme was Man's Dilemma and God's Plan. Mrs. Brenner accompanied by Mrs. Clark Kennedy led in a sing song of selections learned at the school. President, Mrs. Don Gaiser conducted the business. Donations were made to Care, C.N.I.B., Children's Aid,Crippled Children's Treatment Centre, War Memorial Hospital, and the Leprosy Mission. A clothing drive for good used clothes is to be held until November 10 at which time they will be sent to the Rescue Mission. BAPTISM Kari Lee, infant daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Martene was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church, October 18, by Rev. E. E. Steinman. PERSONALS Mrs. Albert Rader spent a week with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Cudmore, Willowdale. Mrs. Cudmore returned home with her for a few days. Thanksgiving Sunday Mr. & Mrs. Jack Cudmore and Mrs. Albert Rader visited Lindsay and Fenton Falls and had dinner at the Bee Hive Golf and Country Club on Sturgeon Lake owned by former Maple Leaf defenseman, Alan Stanley. They had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with Alan and his wife. Mrs. Harry Hoffman attended the Ontario ambulance Association meeting at the Sky Line Hotel, Toronto, last Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Edward Stephan of Mitchell spent a few days with Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Eckstein. Sunday visitors with Mr. Si Mrs. Gerald Martene and family were Mr. & Mrs. Charles Tiernan and family and Miss Margaret Salmon, Exeter, Mrs. Mary Martene and Edwin, Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Salmon and Eleanor, Mr. & Mrs. Ted Wright, Pastor & Mrs. Steinman and boys; Mr, & Mrs. Frank Godley, Port Perry; Glenys Walters, Waterloo and Margaret Chapman, London. Jim Hayter, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hayter. Mrs. Karl Bosk and Mr. & Mrs. Jack Raschke of Detroit spent some time here with Mrs. Susan Merner while Mrs. Louella Tieman holidayed in England. M. R. McIntyre of Prescott called on the Irvin family and Cliff Salmon family Monday. Miss Edna Willert, Mitchell, visited with Miss Susan Willert, Sunday. The annual Ladies Aid fowl supper for members and their husbands or friends was held October 14 with group III and Mrs, Albert Miller, convener, in charge of the supper and program. Mrs, Lawrence Hirtzel, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Tripp were among the group of travellers who returned home on Friday night following an enjoyable trip to England, Wales and Scotland. Mr. & Mrs. W. D. McLean of North Bay were visitors with Rev. & Mrs. R. V. Wilson on Thursday of last week. Dr, & Mrs. C. L. Lewis of Kitchener were overnight guests at the Manse, Friday. Mr. & Mrs. Jon Brean, Huron Park, Ken Clarke, of Zurich, Dianne and Bruce Breen entertained Mr. & Mrs. Robert Breen at an anniversary dinner in the Dominion Hotel in Zurich, Sunday. He visited Ireland, where his wife's ancestors, the Boltons, had come from and were among the first settlers of Usborne Township.
