of Hensall, was the winner of a
$50.00 bill in a draw Saturday
night at the Legion Hall. Ticket
was sold by Mrs. Clarence Reid,
This project was in charge of the
sports committee of Hensall
Legion Ladies' Auxiliary, Mrs.
Clarence Reid and Mrs. Alice
Koehler, who said proceeds were
very gratifying.
Mrs. John Soldan is in Toronto
visiting with relatives and friends
and will attend a reunion of
Allenby School Teachers.
Larry McLean who has been a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, has returned home.

sessions reports of the Rally held
at Centralia were given by Mrs.
Elgie and Mrs. W. Dilling. A
donation was given to the CNIB.
Mrs. Elizabeth Riley was
appointed a delegate to the
London Area Convention to be
held at Stratford in November.
A bazaar and tea will be held at
Huronview November 4; Mrs. N.
Cook reported for the sick and
shut ins; Mrs. Pearl Koehler and
Mrs. B. Beaton were appointed
visiting committee for the coming
month.
Mrs. R. A. Orr presided for the
program introducing the speaker
for the evening, Mrs. Lorna
Lawrence, a teacher on the staff
of South Huron District High
Boys hurt in
car accident
Graham Salter, 5 and Calvin
Salter, 3, were admitted to
Clinton Community Hospital,
Sunday evening with injuries
following a one car accident on
Concession 2, Tuckersmith
Township.
Their mother Mrs. Lloyd
Salter, RR 2 Kippen, and her
three children were returning
from a friend's home in Clinton
when a rear tire blew out causing
Mrs. Salter to lose control of the
car and strike a tree. The impact
threw her out of the car. Graham
required many stitches to a gash
on his temple, and Calvin was
treated for shock and lacerations.
One year old Terry was not hurt.
The two boys were released from
hospital Monday. The car was
damaged at an estimated $3,000.
Goderich Detachment
investigated.

Economy" stressing the
importance of managing the
family budget.
A piano selection was
contributed by Mrs. Cecil Pepper,
Mrs. Jack Corbett and Mrs. Orr
presented readings, and Mrs. Elgie
gave courtesy remarks. Miss Greta
Lammie conducted a singsong.
Program conveners were Mrs.
Walker Cathie, and Mrs. Orr, and
hostesses were Mrs. George
Armstrong and Mrs. Margaret
Ingram.

in Akron, Ohio
Local residents toured to
Akron, Ohio Sunday and
attended service in The Cathedral
of Tomorrow conducted by Rev.
Rex Humbard.

Women met October 13. Mrs.
Richard Taylor 'gave the worship
using the theme, Thanksgiving.
Plans were made for the bazaar
October 28. Mrs. Rodger Venner
gave an interesting talk on her
stay at Alma College.

christening ceremony of Steven
Taylor, son of Mr. & Mrs. Don
Taylor, Thunder Bay.
In her capacity as treasurer of
the Doberman Pinscher Club,
Mrs. Lloyd England attended the
dog show of the Greenwood
Kennel Club in Toronto last
weekend.

Joseph Peter Morlock, born in
Crediton, February 18, 1873, son
of Matthew Morlock and
Magdalina Beaver, died in Canon
City, Colorado, at the age of 97.
He was the 11th child of a
family of thirteen. He worked in a
flax mill and lumber yard at
Shipka and operated his own
farm in Stephen Township until
he was 26, when he moved to
Reed City, Michigan. In 1900 he
married Henrietta Schultz and
they moved to Aurora, Illinois,
where he worked in his brother's
garment factory. In 1903 he and
his family moved to Zion, Illinois
where he was foreman of the Zion
Estates and Industries. His wife
died in 1929. In 1936 he moved
to Canon City where he resided
until his death.
Mr. Morlock is survived by six
children, 21 grandchildren, 31
great-grandchildren, one sister,
Emma Taylor of Boulder,
Colorado, and his second wife
Rosa M. Morlock. He was buried
at Zion, Illinois.

held in Zion United Church

and Mrs. Earl Neil directed the
program. Mrs. John Buxton and
Mrs. Walter Weber sang, with Mrs.
Paul Schenk accompanying them,
on the piano; Mrs. Charlie
Browning gave a reading, and Mrs.
Maurice Haist and Mrs. Allen
Pfaff provided contests. Mrs. Bob
Reid read the address.
Joan Finkbeiner, Mrs. Ken
McCann, Shirley Pfaff, Katie
Eberhart and Mrs. Keith Strang
assisted Nancy in opening the
gifts.
PERSONALS
Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Hey
attended the races at Mosport.
Mrs. Hey was surprised to see
women mechanics working in the
pits, and to learn that women
drivers realize 180 mph on the
course. Mr. Hey considers the
races at Mosport more thrilling
than those at Indianapolis.
Wednesday evening members
of Zion United Church gathered
at the church to welcome Rev. &
Mrs. Armin Schlenker. Rev.
Douglas Warren presented the
couple with a gift of money, and,
after lunch, led the group in
singing.

Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Haist, Ray
Morlock, Lloyd Lamport and
Ervin Ratz attended the plowing
match at Lindsay last week.
Mr. & Mrs. Cameron Mosher,
Dayton, were recent guests of
Rev. & Mrs. Douglas Warren.

anniversary speaker at Kippen
United Church, Sunday. Rev.
Harold Dobson, Grand Bend,
