In the quest for the common good, newspaper editors can often be charged with following the axiom "do as I say, not as I do". So, while we puff away incessantly on cigarettes, we come up with words of wisdom for our readers on the dangers of smoking. However, the writer did follow some of the advice which appeared in this column last week. We took a hike in the bush while visiting at grandma's over the Thanksgiving weekend, as a "gesture of appreciation for nature's bounties". We found nature to be quite bountiful. Despite a mid-morning departure, there was the bountiful dew with which we had to contend. The better half and our youngest son decided this was too much after plodding through the wet grass for a few feet and they returned to the warm confines of the house while yours truly continued merrily along the way with Scott and Steve. Actually, we came to the same conclusion as the small boy who found himself in the middle of a puddle. With his feet soaked already, he correctly concluded he may we well continue as retrace his steps. So, with the soggy sound of wet feet meeting crunching corn stubble, we continued to the bush. Getting into the midst of the colorful array of trees confronted us with another bountiful matter — prickly rasp berry bushes. Steve managed to get completely tangled up and still bears some of the bountiful scratch marks. With that obstacle bypassed," we thought things were taking a turn for the better. The bush was dry and it wasn't long HOME COMFORT ...completely at home with you For ALL Of Your Requirements GRANT MacLEAN FRED LANKAMP BILL YEARLEY THE ESSO TEAM 04.0 NEEDLES .RUIN .135c0803 NEEDLES STEREO, 37Q PRINCESS AVE, LONDON SEND YOUR CHEQt)e.,Q13 MONEY ORDER AND QLP..NUPLE + POSTAGE AND 5% TAX SAPPHIRE DIAMOND NEEDLES NEEDLES 14.9 EA. 12" EA. Coward 691) (G. Eisenschink 601) before our shoes didn't even squish so much. However, after rallying our cohorts to commence the return trip, we noticed another example of nature's bounties. Our two lads had worn their sweaters to the bush and the blue of Steve's had been completely transformed to brown. That was the color of the "hitchhiking" weed seeds which had become embedded in the garment. We didn't realize just how embedded they were until we sat down at the urging(threat is a bit harsh) of the better half to start pulling them out. To conclude the adventure, we spent part of the night administering cough syrup to our foot-soaked offspring. LUCAN LADIES' LEAGUE CC (J.
