held in the church parlors, after
which the couple left for a
honeymoon in Northern Ontario
and Niagara Falls, the bride
wearing a - green tweed coat and
dress -ensemble with black
accessories.

September 26, 1970, when Linda
Joyce Dales and William Ernest
Chipchase were united in
marriage in a double-ring
ceremony officiated by Rev. A.
Mowatt.
Mr. and Mrs. David Dales,
Clinton, and Mrs. and Mrs. Ernest
Chipchase, Hensall, are the
parents of the couple,
The bride entered the church
on the arm of her father and wore
a floor length dress of French
imported lace over taffeta. Each
layer of her chapel train veil was
trimmed with tiny daisies and it
was held by a head piece of
French cotton and imported lace
decorated with beads and tear
drop rhinestones. She carried
white roses and stephanotis
entwined with ivy.
The maid of honor was Mrs.
Barbara Glazier, while Arlene
Chipchase and Barbara Wilson
and Mrs. Suzanne Ginn were
bridesmaids, and Catherine
Taylor acted as flower girl. They
were all gowned in formal length
dresses of mauve chiffon over
taffeta and carried natural
colored baskets with yellow
daisies and purple ribbons.

The annual meeting of the
Local Association of Guides and
Brownies was held Tuesday
evening at the Hensall United
Church.
Mrs. Ron Mock was
introduced as the new president
of the organization by Mrs. E.
Rowe, who is retiring after
several years of serving this
organization. Mrs. Mock
expressed appreciation of the
L.A. and members for her
excellent co-operation and
service.
Two new Guiders were
introduced, Mrs. Glading and
Mrs. Rita Van Wieren, replacing
Mrs. Jean Turner and Mrs. Carol
Cooper.
Business consisted of setting a
date for the Candy Sale, October
staff of the Bank of Commerce,
Tillsonburg.
Many showers and parties
were given in honor of the bride
by her friends in Tillsonburg and
Lucan, prior to her wedding.
Mrs, John Baker is a patient
in Victoria Hospital where she
underwent surgery.

spent Thanksgiving with Mr. &
Mrs. Alan Olson and family,
London.
Mr. & Mrs. Don Rigley of
Blenheim spent Thanksgiving
with Mr. Stewart McQueen and

Thanksgiving weekend with their

meeting on Wednesday evening
assisted by Mrs. Estella Jackson,

Mrs. Myrtle Orr and Mrs.
Aldeen Volland visited the
patients at the Queensway
Nursing Home and treated them
with refreshments.
Tickets are available for the
100th anniversary banquet of
Seaforth Lodge being held in the
Legion Hall, October 24, at 7
p.m. when Rev. Geo. Goth will
be the guest speaker.

First Baptist Church,
Tillsonburg, was decorated with
bronze and gold mums, ferns
and candelabra when Rev, James
Taylor united in marriage
Patricia Ann Freeman and David
Stephen George Kyle,
September 19, 1970.
The parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Reginald S.
Freeman, Tillsonburg, and Mr.
and Mrs. David Kyle, Hensall.
While Rev. James Mathews,
Tillsonburg, supplied traditional
wedding music, the bride was
given in marriage by her father
and she chose a bridal gown of
satin with imported lace trim,
styled in empire lines with long
sleeves and flowing train. A
three tiered veil was held by a
single satin rose and
lily-of-the-valley. She carried a
nosegay of white stephanotis,
orange roses, and white daisy
mums.
The bride's sister, Mrs.
Veronica Balthes, was matron of
honor, while the sister of the
groom, Nancy Kyle, and Joan
Trotter, were bridesmaids. They
were gowned in deep orange
satin empire waisted dresses
trimmed with lace. Small head
veils were held by matching
orange roses. Their nosegays
were of bronze and gold mums
and brown velvet ribbons.
Jack Donnan, Tillsonburg,
was best man, while Gary Kyle,
brother of the groom, and Bruce
Horton acted as ushers.
The wedding reception was
held at Milmar Manor, after
which the bride changed into a
grey empire style dress with
matching grey and white striped
coat with black accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Kyle are residing
at 72 Nurth Street, Tillsonburg.
The groom, a graduate of South
Huron District High School, is
presently teaching at Langdon,
Ontario, and the bride is on the
family, Ingersoll, Mr. & Mrs.
Bryan Underwood, Gorrie, spent
Thanksgiving at the Henderson
residence.
Hensall United Church service
was largely attended Sunday
morning. Rev. H. Currie spoke
on Thankful for What? Guest
soloist was Miss Margaret
Elligson.
Patsy and Pam Taylor of
Varna visited over the holiday
with their uncle and aunt, Mr. &
Mrs. Ross Corbett, Steven and
Jeff.
Mr. & Mrs. Don MacLaren,
Jodi and Brooke of Scarborough
visited over Thanksgiving
weekend with the former's
mother, Mrs. Bertha MacGregor.

She opened the meeting with
a poem for Thanksgiving and her
devotional was entitled,
Gratitude.
Unit I is responsible for
flowers and nursery for
November and helping with
crafts at Queensway Nursing
Home.
Mrs, Harvey Keys gave the
study entitled, Poverty.
Mrs. Walter Spencer showed
excellent pictures of her trip to
Germany, Austria and
Switzerland, this summer.
Mrs. Clendon Christie and
assistants served lunch.

The October Thanksgiving
meeting of Unit II was held
October 12 with 11 members
present.
Mrs. Edison Forrest presided
and opened with a prayer for
Thanksgiving. Roll call was
answered by something we are
truly thankful for.
Mrs. Bob Reaburn presented
the devotional with the theme
also on Thanksgiving.
Mrs. E. Forrest gave an
inspiring talk on Problems are
Good for Us.
Mrs. Jack Drysdale gave a
very interesting resume of her
trip to Denmark and
surrounding counties, during the
time lunch was served.

and Mrs. Tillie Tetreau of
Zurich.
Mrs. Bertha Jinks, resident of
Hensall since 1920, left for
Clinton this past week where she
will make her home with Mr. &
Mrs. Cyril Van Damme, of 108
Ontario Street.
Mrs. Alma Hess and
granddaughter Miss Cathy
McCloy, who is attending the
University of Western Ontario,
spent Thanksgiving with Mr. &
Mrs. J. L. McCloy of Don Mills.
Garry Clement, 16, student at
SHDHS Exeter, who was a
patient in South Huron Hospital,
has returned home.
Mrs. Bertha Jinks, Clinton,
spent Thanksgiving with Mr. &
Mrs. Ross Jinks and family, and
Miss Susan Jinks in London.
Mrs. R. Dalrymple of
Egmondville was a guest this
past week with Mrs. Eva Dent,
Wasaga Beach.
