Daley's comments
— Continued from page 18
President Jack Elson completed
the walk to the tune of $2.00 a
mile put up by his Comrades at
the Legion. We thought our
money was pretty safe, but wily
old Jack fooled us. It was a
pleasure to pay off for this
worthy cause.
Our Comrades and readers are
reminded that November 11 will
soon be here. This year Branch
540, Lucan will host the
Remembrance Banquet to which
members of the public are
invited. Comrade President has
promised us an interesting
speaker for the occasion. Our
Comrades are also reminded our
annual Remembrance church
parade will be held on Sunday
November 8. We are looking
forward to a good turnout and
urge all Comrades to make a
special effort to attend. LET US
ALL TAKE TIME TO
REMEMBER THE TRUE
MEANING OF REMEM-
BRANCE DAY.
This year our Lucan Legion
sports participants will have a
distinctive sports shirt — colour?
you guessed it — what else but
good old Irish Green. If you are
interested in getting one, there is
still time, place your order with
our Steward, smilin' Carl.
In checking. with the'
Membership Chairman I note
there are still a few Comrades
who are in arrears in payment of
their 1970 dues — Come on
Comrades — keep in step with
the lively guys and help keep
Branch 540 in the CENTRE OF
THINGS.
And that's 30 for this
week . .. remember . . Don't be
too critical of your wife's faults.
It may have been those very
defects that kept her from
catching a better husband.
