Wearing a floor length, white
crepe, Victorian style gown of
her own design which featured
large puffed Georgette sleeves,
ruffled trimming, an empire
bodice which extended into a
. chapel length train, and a tiered
should length veil of illusion,
Gloria Jean Hawgood was given
in, marriage by her father to
Edwin Peter McFalls, September
5, 1970, at Exeter United
Church.
The parents of the couple are
Mr. & Mrs. Charles L. Hawgood,
Brucefield, and Mr, & Mrs. Percy
,McFalls, Exeter.
Rev. Glen Wright performed
the ceremony before a setting of
white gladioli, and organist
Robert Cameron accompanied
the soloist, Frank Johns, of
Toronto, an uncle of the groom..
Matron of honor, Mrs.
Marlene Hamilton,. Guelph, and
bridesmaids Valerie Wells and
Linda Strother of Virginia wore
identical Victorian gowns in
deep lilac crepe, patterned after
the bride's dress,
The bride carried a cascade of
white carnations and stephanotis
and the attendants' flowers were
bouquets of white shasta daisies,
accented by purple ribbons.
They also wore daisies in their
hair.
Richard McFalls was best
man for his brother, while Neil
Hamilton and Brian Sanders
ushered the guests,.
After -a reception at
Brucefield United Church the
newlyweds left for a wedding
trip, the bride wearing a
turquoise fortrel dress and coat
ensemble with black accessories.
Mr. & Mrs. McFalls are
residing in Exeter where the
groom is employed by the Bell
Telephone Company.

Gordon McTavish, Exeter,
exchanged wedding vows with
James Allan Wilton, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Allan Wilton, Montreal,
at Exeter United Church, with
Rev. W. D. Jarvis officiating.
Robert Cameron was at the
organ console and accompanied
Mrs. Robert Hoffman, the
soloist.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride was stunning in
a high waisted gown of white
organza with sweeping cathedral
train and Camelot headpiece.
She carried a colonial bouquet.
of yellow roses, daisies and white
mums.
The bridal attendants were
Mrs. Ann Moore, Beth Roder,
Donna Wilton and Brenda
Schmidt who were all gowned in
dresses of lemon yellow voile
with high gathered skirts. They
carried nosegays of variegated
flowers.
A cousin of the bride,
Allyson Schmidt, was lovely as
flower girl in a dainty dress of
white Swiss embroidery with
yellow sash. She carried a basket
of summer flowers.
Neil Devitt was best man and
Clare Trott, Don Karn and
Stephen Kuzyk were the ushers.
Murray McTavish, cousin of
the bride, piped the bridal
couple as they left the church.
The wedding guests were
entertained at the Exeter Curling
Club, after which the bride
donned a navy and white linen
dress with navy accessories for a
wedding trip to Jamaica.
Mr, and Mrs. Wilson are
residing in London when the
groom teaches at Westminster
Secondary School.

Dashwood United Church, Rev.
Bruce Guy heard the wedding
vows of Eleanor Jane Wolfe,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart
Wolfe, Dashwood, and John
Scott Parker, son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Parker, Lucan.
Mrs. William Ford supplied
the wedding music and
accompanied the soloist, Mrs.
Murray Wolfe of Roxboro.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride was charming in
a floor length gown of white
peau de soie with long sleeves,
standup collar and lace
trimming. Her bridal costume
was completed by a three tiered
veil and chapel length train. She
carried yellow roses.
The maid of honor, Patricia
Wolfe and the bridesmaids, Mrs.
Eric Wolfe, Beverley Parker wore
sleeveless empire waisted gowns
in fuschia peau de sole with a
sheer overlay of pink. Pink
velvet bows accentuated the
waists. Their flowers were
nosegays of yellow carnations
and roses.
The little flower girl, Lisa
Hamather wore a gown similar
to the bride's with pink
trimming and puffed sleeves. She
carried a basket of flowers.
Jim Parker was best man for
his brother while Dave Parker
and Thomas Wolfe ushered the
guests.
The wedding reception was
held at the Dashwood
Community Centre after which
the couple left for a honeymoon
in Northern Ontario.
They are residing in London.

and accompanied Mrs. Ross

Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a floor
length gown of lagoda on empire
lines with long cuffed sleeves,
wedding band neckline trimmed
with Chantilly lace and daisies.
Her ensemble was completed
with a detachable chapel train
and elbow length silk illusion
veil held by sprays of
stephanotis and seed pearls. She
carried a nosegay of pink roses,
shasta daisies and white
streamers.
The bridal attendants, Mrs.
Garry Rock, matron of honor;
the bridesmaids, Mrs. Norman
Eagleson, Mrs. Ronald Mawson,
and the flower girls, Darlene
Rock and Debbie Hutchinson
wore identical floor length
gowns of blossom pink lagoda
with white French lace
trimming, and cocktail length
veils held by pink rosebuds.
Their nosegays were of white
shasta daisies, pink mums and
purple asters.
T n e best man was the
groom's brother, Douglas
Mawson, and another brother,
Ronald, and Jim Pickering
ushered.
The reception was held at
Grace Church Hall, Greenway,
after which the bride donned a
light blue matching coat and
dress outfit with black
accessories to travel with the
groom to Northern Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Mawson now
reside at Parkhill.

CELEBRATE 50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: Mr. & Mrs. W. H.
Parker, Parksville, B.C., (formerly of Exeter) celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary at the Exeter Legion Flail last Sunday afternoon
when they were honored at an Open House by their family and
friends. Mr. & Mrs. Parker have one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Jeanne)
Preszca tor, of Goderich, son Les Parker, of Woodstock, six
grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The Exeter Legion Pipe
Band played a selection of Scotch songs for the happy couple and
the Ladies Auxiliary served a dinner for the family.
