OW RC starts new regulations A regulation requiring commercial marinas to instal or to arrange elsewhere for pump-out facilities for the servicing of pleasure boats has been made by the Ontario Water Resources Commission and approved by the Ontario Government. Commercial marinas are those which ordinarily provide services for pleasure craft with heads (toilets) and include marinas operated by yacht clubs. Additionally, containers for litter must be provided at all locations servicing pleasure boats. Under the regulation, litter containers are to be provided immediately, with the pump-out facilities to be installed and operational by August 26. It is anticipated that an extensive network of pump-out stations will be completed and made available throughout the province as a result of the regulation. The provision of litter containers will make it possible for all pleasure boats to dispose of garbage at any marina in a satisfactory manner. The Exeter Greys came up with a good performance at Exeter Community Park Tuesday night to down the Mitchell girls 22 -12 and even their best-of-seven playoff series at a game apiece. Mitchell won the first game in the Huron Ladies' softball league "B" final by a score of 15-12 on List driving suggestions 1. Obey the traffic laWs of the land. If you drive according ti the vehicle or highway code, you will drive safely and well. 2. Concentrate on your driving and drive defensively. Never take it for granted that the other driver will do the right thing - Drive defensively. 3. Think before acting. Be alert - think about what you are doing while you are doing it. 4. Never tailgate. The cause of most accidents on freeways and expressways is tailgating - following too closely. 5. Drive with deliberation and overtake as quickly as possible. When in doubt, never pass. 6. Use speed intelligently and drive fast only in the right places. Don't drive too fast or too slow. A skilled driver never drives faster than the conditions of the road, traffic and weather permit. 7. Develop your car sense and reduce wear and tear to a minimum. 8. Use your horn thoughtfully; give proper signals; never black out headlights. 9. Be sure your car is road-worthy and know its capabilities. Keep your car maintained in good mechanical condition. 10. Perfect your road craft and acknowledge courtesies extended to you by other road users. Courtesy is an important factor in road safety.
