The couple will reside in Winnipeg where Mrs, Brierley Will complete Phase III of her dietetic internship at Misericordia General. Hospital, and Mr. Brierley will attend the Mennonite Brethren College of Arts, BRIDAL SHOWERS Prior to her wedding the bride was honored on several occasions. Showers were given by the following; Miss Doris Regier and Mrs. Phil Osburn at Mrs. Osburn's home in Guelph; Zion. United Church ladies in the church parlour; Margaret Haist at her parent's home; and for former neighbors, co-hostesses were Mrs. Hubert Cooper, Mrs. Harvey Andrews, Mrs. Arthur Ford and Mrs. Hilda Shapton at Mrs. Cooper's home, etellae Relee4 Peace Lutheran Church, Exeter, decorated with lighted candles and fugi yellow mums was the setting of the pretty summer wedding of Sheila Darlene Keller and Harold B. Clarke, August 8, with Rev. Reinhart officiating and Miss Helen Nadiger providing the wedding music. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Keller, Andrew Street, are the parents of the bride, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Clarke, Brantford. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a Victorian style gown of lagoda, trimmed The 'Sights and Sounds of the Seventies', as created by the Women's Division, and seen in the Better Living Centre, is a must for any visitor to the Ex. From fashion shows to a school art display, a model home to a swinging centre for young people — all are designed to let you see what's ahead in the '70's. In Fashions: Sixteen shows a day will be presented in the Queen Elizabeth Building Theatre showing the look of the '70's in day, evening, cruise, lounge and children's wear. As well, the original costumes worn by Barbara Streisand in the film version of "Hello, Dolly", will be highlighted in the Travel Show. Shows start at 1:00 in the afternoon and end at 9:00. In handicrafts: Interestingly enough, in spite of to-day's busy life and television in nearly every home, handicrafts and school entries were larger than ever. This year, close to 13,000 entries were received in the school art and close to 4,000 in thq handicrafts. Judging was difficult, but all winners were finally selected and make a mammoth display in the south east wing of the Better Living Centre. In home decorating: Involvement, modern, young — with rows of guipure lace, long full sleeves with deep pointed cuffs, buttoned at the wrist. A chapel length train edged with lace and a full length veil which fell from a pill box headpiece completed her ensemble. She carried a white orchid with stephanotis, miniature carnations and ivy. The bridal attendants, Pam Fester, Kitchener, Mrs. Lana Wright, the bride's sister of London, and. Mrs. Anna Mollard, Exeter, wore identical gowns of apple green crystal organza which featured sheer, wrist length blousan sleeves, fitted bodices and A-line skirts. Their bouquets were yellow fugi mums and velvet streamers, Donald Bell, London, was best man and Jim Baxter and Eg. Clarke, both of Kitchener were ushers. A reception was held at the Red Gables Hotel, Grand Bend, where William Wright, London, acted as master of ceremonies. For a wedding trip to Pokono Mountains, Penn., the bride wore an outfit of royal purple polyester crepe. Mr. and Mrs. Clarke will reside in Kitchener where the bride nurses at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital and the groom is in his final year at the University of Waterloo as a chemical engineer student, Hostesses for showers given to Mrs. Clarke prior to her marriage were her grandmother, Mrs. A. Jaques, and Mrs. Marina Jaques; Mrs. Anna Mollard, and friends and associates at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital. all describe what's ahead in home decorating. In the Better Living Centre, there are over 20 rooms designed to show you what more than 50 Canadian manufacturers are showing for the '70's — from kitchens and laundry rooms to dining rooms and luxurious drawing rooms. `THE ELEMENT', on the south side of the Better Living • Centre, is designed for the young: it includes a series of 21 boutiques selling everything from posters to sandals, sunglasses, to Graham Kerr's cookbooks and, in the theatre, tie-dying demonstrations, files, music and rap sessions. The building opens at 10:00 in the morning and closes at 10:00 in the evening. Shows start in the theatre at 11:00 a.m. Dolls: not girls, but dolls every girl would like to own. They are dressed as 1st ladies of the U.S.A., Cleopatra, Palladin and many, many more famous persons like Henry VIII and his wives — all make an interesting and colorful display in the east wing of the Better Living Centre. Mammoth Draw: On Women's Day, Wednesday, September 2, the Women's Division is planning a mammoth draw. Prizes to be won include a chinchilla hat, a radio, a camera, and numerous water and maple syrup; stir well. Pour over ice cubes in tall glasses. Serves 3-4. SUMMER DYNAMITE 1/3 cup instant coffee 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon cloves 1 cup boiling water 3 cups cold water Ice cubes 6 twists lemon peel Combine instant coffee, cinnamon and cloves in a 1 quart measure; add boilingwater stirring until mixture dissolves. Stir in cold water. Cover and refrigerate coffee mixture until serving time. Fill six tall glasses with ice cubes and place a lemon twist in each glass. Fill up glasses with chilled coffee mixture. The bride, given in marriage by her father, Douglas Robbins, Exeter, wore a formal length gown of imported French silk organza and Venice lace which was styled to create a youthful effect with Victorian neckline, full puff sleeves and fitted bodice. A cascade of silk organza over taffeta formed a Cathedral length train and Venice lace with organza formed the headpiece which held the bouffant bridal veil. A colonial bouquet of white roses and baby's breath completed the bride's ensemble. Joan Coleman was maid of honour and Donna McCreary, Faye Jackson and Chris Cameron were bridesmaids. They were gowned alike in hand crocheted nylon turquoise gowns and carried yellow and white nosegays.yn L Parker was his brother's groomsman. Following the wedding reception and dance at the Exeter Legion the bride changed to a flowered organza dress with white accessories for a wedding trip to Quebec City. The couple will reside in London. Prior to her wedding the bride was entertained with bridal showers by Mrs. Robert other gifts. Ballot boxes will be on display throughout the Better Living Centre. In Art: More than 50 young artists will be doing their thing from the Ex. An outdoor festival, on the west side of the Better Living Centre, will include sculpting, painting, and material arts. All works of art will be for sale and, on Women's Day, September 2. a giant auction. Durand officiated for the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Louis Farwell, RR 3 Zurich and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs, Stanley Kay, Sarnia. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was elegant in a floor-length gown of silk organza with Swiss guipure lace trimming the empire waistline, scooped neckline, the long sheer sleeves and A-line skirt. A chapel-length veil draped gracefully from the mid back and a short nylon veil was caught by a headpiece of white flowers. The bridal bouquet was a cascade of shocking pink rose buds and white miniature carnations. Maid of honor, Mary Anne Farwell, sister of the bride, wore a gown of embroidered French lace in fairyland pink, styled with a fitted bodice trimmed in matching peau de soie, and a full-length cage of matching lace. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink variagated miniature carnations and baby's breath. Bridesmaids, Bernadette Farwell, sister of the bride and Theresa Hartman, cousin of the bride were gowned the same as the maid of honour. Groomsmen were Ted Arnold, Don Farwell, and Gary Kay. Ken and Eddie Farwell ushered the guests. The soloist, Elaine Westlake, was accompanied by Mrs. Stephen Meidinger. The wedding reception was held in the Dashwood Community Centre. For travelling to Northern parts of the province, the bride changed to an aqua blue dress with white accessories. The couple will reside in London where the bride is employed as a school teacher. The groom teaches at Orwell, Ontario.
