Youngsters on launch Last Friday at Victoria Park, Exeter Playground launched their rocket for the moon as a conclusion to Space Week. The children marched from the arena down to Victoria Park in their extremely creative costumes. A hunt for the Moon Monster Marsion Egg resulted in a refreshing feed of juicy, red watermelon. The wading pool was opened for those who wanted to cool off. Green Freshie and assorted cookies were followed by a candy scramble to end Space Week. This week, our final week brings many opportunities for the children. Tuesday afternoon the children eight years and over went to Riverview Park to set up camp for their overnight campout. Our wood fire cooked up many different dishes for supper. Active games and a campfire singsong supplied our before-shut-eye entertainment. On Thursday, the children will visit St. Marys for a Youth Theatre production and swim party. A trip to Lond6n to Storeybook Gardens provided an excellent setting for the conclusion of Playground. We boarded the bus at 11 o'clock Wednesday with everyone bringing paper bag lunches.
