For information write or Phone 7404.4701,44 Mauve gladiolus and variegated carnations adorned the altar of Greenway United Church July 4, 1,970 for the marriage of Barbara Ann Taylor, daughter of Mr, & Mrs. 18ryden Taylor Grand Bend, and Barry Gordon Tweddle, son of Mr. & Mrs, Milton Tweddle, Ansa. Craig. The ceremony was performed by Rev, PL. G. Dobson, Miss Evelyn Vurts was organist and With an attendance of about 100, the annual Gunning Reunion was held July 26 at the Exeter Riverview Park. After a minute of silence was observed dinner was enjoyed. The table and tea committee for 1970 were Mr. & Mrs. Harold Bell, Glenn Parkinson, Evelyn White, and Mr. & Mrs. W. Tookey. Those on the sports committee were Mr. & Mrs. Garry Parkinson and Mr. & Mrs. Bill Heather. Registration was looked after by Mrs. Herman Foster and Mrs. Fred Parkinson. An afternoon of fun with races and relays were enjoyed with the following winners in events: oldest person present, Frank Parkinson, tooth pick guess, Russel Parkinson; mystery parcel, Helen Bell and Mrs. W. Rodd; closest wedding anniversary, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Constable. Races were won by Lisa Parkinson, Kevin Heather, Steven Jaques, Dennis Keller, Elaine Brewer, Ruth Constable, Spence Read, Dougie Box. Winners of other events were: Marina Jaques, Margaret Parsons, DOugie Box, Mrs. Frank Squires, Dennis Keller, Margaret Parkinson, Fred Parkinson, Muriel Tookey, Rosemary Lemieux, Mrs. W. A short business meeting was held and the 1971 picnic was accompanied the soloist Mrs. Keith Niblock, Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of lagoda on empire lines. The bodice was fashioned with a bateau neckline and long full cuffed sleeves. The semi A-line skirt was enhanced with guipure lace and a detachable chapel train draped from the shoulders. A floral cluster of seed pearls held her three-tiered walloped illusion veil, She carried a cascade of pink roses, white planned in July. Double ring service at UC Mrs. May Pugh of Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, was united in marriage to Milton Robbins, Exeter, at a double ring ceremony in Exeter United Church, June 20, 1970 with Rev. Glen Wright officiating. The couple were attended by the bride's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Carter, Detroit. A reception followed in the church parlor, after which a social evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Robbins, son and daughter-in-law of the groom. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Robbins honeymooned in northern Michigan. Di to/ stephanotis and ivy. Mrs. Donna Murray, of Sarnia, sister of the bride, was matron of honour and bridesmaids were Mrs. Wayne Hughes of London, and Linda Tweddle of Ailsa Craig. They wore identical floor.length gowns on empire lines of mauve chiffon over taffeta featuring chiffon trains which fell from the shoulders. Mauve daisies completed the gowns. They wore mauve chiffon roses in their hair and carried cascades of mauve daisies, variegated carnations and ivy. The flower girl, Ann Tweddle, wore a white floor length gown trimmed with mauve daisies. She carried a bouquet similar to the other attendants. Wayne Hughes, of London, was best man and guests were ushered by Lawrence Lockhart of Parkhill and Ken McAlpine of Ailsa Craig. Guests were entertained at the Greenway Anglican Parish Hall. For travelling to the Southern States the bride chose a shrimp chiffon dress with white accessories. The couple will live in London. 94e1 - zwteir Emmanuel United Church, Zurich was the scene of a candlelight wedding July 10. at 7:00 p.m. when Donna Mae Kipper, daughter of Mr, & Mrs. Francis Kipper was united in marriage to Glen Martin Greb, son of Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Greb. Rev. John Huether, performed the ceremony and Elaine Westlake, soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Milton Oesch. The church was decorated with arrangements of pink and white flowers with candelabra in the chancel. Given in marriage by her father the bride chose a floor length gown of silk peau de sole, featuring a wedding band neckline, lily point sleeves and high empire style waistline. The bodice was covered with French Lace and the A-line skirt front was appliqued with matching lace florett es. An attached cathedral-length train cascaded from the back and a pearl and crystal floral headpiece held her French illusion four-tiered veil. She carried a colonial nosegay of pink sweetheart rosebuds and shasta daisies with sprays of baby's breath. Mrs. Dorothy Ducharme, Zurich, as matron of honor, wore a rose pink gown styled with empire lines and ruffled neckline and sleeves. The bridal attendants, Lynda Thiel, Zurich, and Mrs. Kathleeen McClelland, Kitchener wore petal pink gowns Mr. & Mrs. Murray Greene and David, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Bentley, and Miss Marion Bissett left July 24 on a three week conducted tour of Central Europe. The tour arranged and conducted by Rev. Bren De Vriese, formerly of Trivitt Memorial Church, commenced at Amsterdam, Holland, and will take the party through Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and several other countries. Also on the plane travelling to Holland to visit relatives and friends were Mr. & Mrs. George Vriese and family, and Walter Peitch also of town. HOME FROM EUROPE Gary Eagleson, Exeter, and David Foster of Ridgetown, have returned from a two months tour of Europe and the British Isles. Both are graduates of Althouse College Gary, son of Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Eagleson, Exeter, will be teaching on the staff of Tecumseh Secondary School, Chatham, beginning September. Mr. & Mrs. G. K. Crocker, Dashwood, returned from holidaying in the west, after travelling to Regina with their son, R.C.M.P. Corporal & Mrs. James Crocker who had visited them earlier this summer. Mr. & Mrs. Pred Walters, Bob and Eugene, have returned home from holidaying at Chesley Lake. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Grigg and family, Burlington visited during the week with Mr. & Mrs. Fred on similar lines, They carried colonial baskets of snapdragons and shasta daisies. Wayne Horner was best man and Larry Kipper and Jared McClelland, Kitchener ushered guests, - The wedding dinner was held in the Emmanuel United Church parlours following which the bride changed to a mauve crepe dress with white accessories. After a honeymoon in the west the happy couple will reside on the groom's farm, RR 3, Zurich, Prior to her wedding the bride was honoured on several occasions: Showers were given by the following: the groom's aunts, Mrs. Doris Hodgson, Mrs, Mildred Greb, Mrs. Valera Pfile, Mrs. Edith Love at the Hodgson's cottage; the bridesmaids, Lynda Thiel and Mrs, Dorothy Ducharme at the former's home; and the Babylon line neighbours at the home of Mrs. Neil Gingeric h. The Emmanuel United Church Women had a party in the church parlours and Miss Meda Surerus entertained at a luncheon at her home in honor of Miss Kipper. The staff of the Hensel! Public School enjoyed a social evening and presentation at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Robt. Reaburn in the brides' honor. q‘eiret Lynda Diane Gloor and Leroy H. Hern were united in marriage in a ceremony performed in Centralia United Church, decorated with candelabra and fern, by Rev. Robert Wilson, July 25, 1970. The parents of the couple are Mr. & Mrs. Emerson Gloor, Centralia and Mr. & Mrs. Morris Hem, RR 1, Granton. Mrs. Jack Dickins was the guest soloist and David Elston accompanied her and supplied the wedding music at the organ. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a full length gown of peau de sole which featured a scalloped neckline and lily point sleeves. TheA-lineskirt was styled with an overlay of lace which formed a coat effect from the empire waist. A gathered panel, a detachable cathedral train of chantilly lace and a matching headpiece which held the silk illusion veil completed the bride's ensemble. Her bouquet was a cascade of miniature pink and white carnations. Mrs. Betty Johnson, Centralia, matron of honor, and Penny Gloom, of Mitchell, bridesmaid, wore dresses of pink lagoda and lace with scooped necklines and Negrijn, Huron Street. Also guests with the Negrijns on the weekend were Mr. & Mrs. Willi Kammerer, Kitchener. Mr. & Mrs. James Low, daughters Penny and Wendy are visiting with Mrs. Thomas Di nney and other relatives. Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Rundle, David, Dianne and Sharon were in Windsor over the weekend attending the Ontario Music Festival. David and Dianne each placed first in their divisions. Mrs. Ardella DesJardine leaves August 2, to attend the Charismatic International Convention in Los Angeles, California. Robert Ross, London, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Thomson, Wallaceburg, visited recently with Mrs. William Thomson, Andrew St. Sunday Mrs. Thompson attended the funeral of the late Alex Wells, Blyth. short sleeves. They wore daisies with matching ribbons throughout their hair and carried nosegays of white daisies and trailing streamers, The best man was Bill Johnson, Centralia, and two brothers of the groom, Vernon and Mervyn Hem acted as ushers. After a wedding reception at the church, the couple left for a honeymoon in Northern Ontario, the new bride wearing a two piece pink outfit and white accessories. The couple will reside at 301 Senior Street, Exeter. 2aag, - ,o/f4Neut The Mary Ellen Chapel, Grand Bend, was the setting for the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Quanz, July 11, 1970. The bride, Lily Mae is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Johnson, RR 1, Grand Bend. The bridegroom, is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Quanz, 268 Normandy Avenue, Waterloo. The bride was lovely in a gown of white silk organza with lace appliqued bodice and shoulder length veil, She carried a cascade of pink roses and trailing ivy. Matron of honor was Mrs. James Kerslake, Exeter, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Howard Lester, Sarnia, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Allen Grover, Prince George, B.C., sister of the groom. The junior bridesmaid was Marion Johnson, Grand Bend, niece of the bride. They were dressed alike in flowered turquoise, pink and and yellow chiffon floor length dresses and carried wicker baskets of yellow daisies and trailing ivy. Best man was Gordon Kaster of Kitchener, and the ushers were Mervin Johnson, Grand Bend, brother of the bride and Ronald Binkle, Kitchener, uncle of the groom. The mothers of the bride and groom welcomed the guests at the reception held in Dashwood Community Centre. , The couple will live , in Waterloo after a honeymoon trip in Northern Ontario. Beginning July 1, Miss. Ethel Dewar becaMe librarian for the Huron County Library. She is responsible for about 30 library outlets across the County and to the Huron County Library Board' which is controlled by County Qouncli, Miss Dewar came to Huron County from Dresden after setting up a new library in a composite school there. Prior to that, she established the Victoria County Library at Lindsay and was chief librarian at Cornwall for ten years. Last summer she taught Library Technical Services at AlthoUse College of Education. She holds a BA from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Library Science from University of Toronto. The present .coleerri of the. County Librarian, whose headquarters is in the County Court House, is ordering new books for winter reading and sorting out the present stock to make sure each book is "Iri shape to be loaned out.
