Cowboys, Indians
romp this week
By MICHELLE HARRISON
Exeter was host to the annual
Lake Huron Zone Playground
Play day this year. Playday,
involves several towns competing
against each other for a trophy.
The games played this year
were bor do nball, archball
rounders, dodgeball and relays.
Exeter placed second amongst
seven other towns, and on behalf
of the supervisors I would like to
congratulate all children who
were involved in playing. The
enthusiasm and excitement our
teams displayed was tremendous,
and because of their hard work in
practice we were able to defeat
five other towns.
The scores were as follows:
Kincardine, 97 points; Exeter, 82
points; St. Marys, 60 points;
Chesley, 59 points; Walkerton, 58
points; Hanover, 47 and Owen
Sound, 44.
The older children spent most
of last week practicing for
playday. Crafts and games
continued as usual for the
younger children.
This week is entitled Cowboys
and Indians and crafts have been
geared towards this theme.
Friday there will be aparade from
Kin Park to Riverview Park
followed by a bean and wiener
supper.
It is hoped that we can take
the younger children away for a
day sometime in the near future,
since they' were not involved in
playday. %Then the exact time and
place is decided, parents will be
informed.
The wading pool is open
Monday to Sunday to all children
who are not old enough to swim
in the swimming pooh
Once again I would like to
congratulate and thank all
children involved in playday.
