returned from a month's vacation
with her son, W/O Lorne D. Ford
and family of Lahr, Germany.
She accompanied them on a trip
to several other countries in
Europe.

Sunday last brought the
services to a close for the summer
in Hensall United Church. Special
music was supplied by a men's
trio, Ron Mock, Wayne Payne
and Bill Mickle. The Sunday
previous a duet was sung by Mrs.
Wm. Fuss and Wayne Payne.
This congregation will join
with the congregation of Carmel
Presbyterian Church, Hensall, for
the month of August.

injuries in a recent car accident
has returned home from St.
Joseph's Hospital.
Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle visited
their daughter and son-in-law Mr.
& Mrs. Ross MacMillan and
family at Southcott Pines near
Grand Bend, where the family is
spending a six week vacation.
Mrs. Charles Weeks, Miss
Heather Weeks, Mrs. Arvid
Petersen and Sara, Toronto,
visited recently with Mr. & Mrs.
Laird Mickle.
Recent visitors with Mr. &
Mrs. R. A. Orr were the latter's
sister and husband, Mr. & Mrs.
Basil Fuller, Whitney Lake,
Bonanza Estates Texas, U.S.A.
Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Noakes
left by jet from Toronto
International Airport, July 24, to
visit their son and wife, Dr. & Mrs.
David Noakes, Edinburgh,
Scotland and to visit relatives in
the Orkney Islands and England.
They will be on vacation for three
weeks.
Mrs. Florence Joynt is a
patient in South Huron Hospital.
Mrs. Mary Funk left Thursday
by plane to spend a week with her
parents at Wilkie, Sask. and with
her brother and sister-in-law Mr.
& Mrs. Harold Holmes at
Saskatoon.
Mrs. Elizabeth Riley, and Mrs.
Mary Taylor, left by bus
Thursday for a vacation at
Vancouver, B.C. and Red Lake,
Ontario.
Mr. & Mrs. Roland Vanstone
and family, and Joan Allan,
returned Saturday from a two
week's vacation at Inverhuron.
Plan parade
for children
• Hensall 'recreation committee
Conclude& the' third week of the
summer recreational program for
area youngsters this week.
The activities have been well
attended and games of floor
hockey and other ball games
under the direction of Joe
Reaburn have been very popular
with the older boys.
The large number of children
attending the craft session would
indicate the popularity and
interest in art.
The three week program will
conclude Saturday night with a
barbecue for the children and
their parents, who will also be
able to view a display of the
articles made.
There will be a dress up parade
and decorated bicycles contest
with games to complete the
activities. The parade will be
scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and it is
hoped that members of the
community will also attend this
event.
Mrs. Bertie McMurtrie and
Mrs. Stewart Bell visited Tuesday
with Mr. & Mrs. Sandy Bisset,
Sal tford Heights.
Mrs. Stewart Bell spent
Thursday with Mrs. Charles Eyre
and Janice of Egmondville.
Gordon Schwalm, Stewart
Bell and Rick Bedard enjoyed
two week's fishing at
Matachewan.
Lloyd Salter of Gravenhurst,
spent the weekend at his home
near Kippen, with his parents and
other relatives.
Mr. & Mrs. L. Clark, and Mr. &
Mrs. Bob Clark, of Seaforth,
spent the weekend visiting
relatives in Buffalo.
Mrs. J. L. McCloy and Carrie
of Don Mills, were recent visitors
with Mrs. Alma Hess, who
returned home with them for a
short holiday returning to
Hensall, Saturday.
Visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Sim
Roobol are Mrs. R. Bendyke
Versprille and daughter, Hilly,
Rotterdam, Holland. They stayed
in Canada four weeks and visited
in Quebec, Ridgetown, Bradford,
Tillsonburg, Brantford, Seaforth
and in Michigan.
Mr. & Mrs. Carl Payne have left
for a three week tour of England,
Scotland and Wales.
Clarence Parke is a patient in
St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Judith Mickle received word
from Royal Conservatory of
Music, Toronto, that she
successfully passed Grade VII
piano exams with honors. She is a
pupil of Mrs. Carol Carter,
Seaforth.
Mrs. Pearl Koehler and
daughter, Mrs. Art McCallum,
visited last week with relatives in
Toronto.
Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Walper of
Los Angeles, California, and Mrs.
Herb Mousseau of Zurich, visited
recently with their niece, Mrs.
Pearl Koehler.
Mr Mrs. Gordon T. Munn of
Stoney Creek visited over the
weekend with the latter's mother,
Mrs. Ida Munn.
Mrs. Mildred Bell and family
and Mr. & Mrs.LloydHackney of
Exeter enjoyed a holiday at
Manitoulin Island last week.
Mr. & Mrs. Glenn E. Bell and
Mr. & Mrs. Richard Taylor Jr.
have returned home from an
enjoyable motor trip through the
Western Provinces.
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Ireland of
Toronto, and Mr. & Mrs. Wes
Jones of Port Perry, visited over
the weekend with their father,
Norman Jones, and with their
mother, Mrs. Jones who is a
patient in South Huron Hospital,
Constable Doug Wein RCMP,
Mrs. Wein and David left
Saturday for their home in North
Sydney, Nova Scotia, after an
extended holiday with the latter's
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker
and Pat and with Mr. & Mrs.
Lawrence Wein, Exeter,
Mrs. Sim Roobol is a patient in
South Huron Hospital
Red and white carnations
adorned the altar of the Hensall
United Church, July 18, 1970, as
Rev. Harold Currie performed a
double ring ceremony, uniting in
marriage, Carolyn Marie Cook
and Robert Wilkin.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Cook, Hensall,
and the groom, the son of Mrs.
Betty Wilkin of Goderich.
Given in marriage by her
father, the lovely bride wore a full
length Victorian gown of white
Oriental lagoda. Lace trimmed
the high, neckline and long
sleeves. Her veil, held by a satin
bow in her hair, formed a
sweeping train. She carried a
cascade of sweetheart roses and
ivy.
Maid of honor was Judi
Malone of Huron Park, and
Elizabeth Cook of Hensall, cousin
of the brideand Patricia Taylor of
London were bridesmaids. All
were gowned in high waisted
daffodil yellow crepe with lace at
the neckline, bodice and puffed
sleeves. White daisies formed halo
headpieces and trimmed the
bouquets they carried.
Timothy McBride, Toronto,
was groomsman. The ushers were,
Robert McKee and Terry Worsell,
cousin of the groom, both of
Goderich.
Soloist, William Craig, an
uncle of the groom, sang and Mrs.
John Turkheim presided at the
organ.
After the ceremony, a buffet
reception was held on the lawn at
the home of the bride's parents.
The happy couple will reside
in London.
TROUSSEAU TEA'
July 11 Mrs. Robert Cook held
a tea in honor of her daughter
Carolyn.
Pouring tea in the afternoon
were the two grandmothers of the
bride, Mrs. Norman Cook of
Hensall and Mrs. Nick Hildebrand
of Leamington. In the evening
Mrs. Douglas Cook and Mrs.
Harold Worsell presided at the tea
table.

Howard Scane of Hensall, Judi
Malone of Huron Park, Mrs.
Harold Worsell of Goderich and
Mrs. Douglas Cook at Bayfield.
Friday evening, prior to the
wedding, Mrs. Betty Wilkin,
mother of the groom-elect,
entertained the bridal party at her
home in Goderich.

Mrs. J. Turkheim played
traditional wedding music and
accompanied the soloist, Cheryl
Monteith of London.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride was charming in
a floor length, old world gown,
styled in Italian silk peau de soie
with Venice lace trim. It featured
a high neckline, wrist length
sleeves and a semi-empire
waistline all adorned with the
same lace. A cathedral length
train was attached at the back of
the waist, and a floral halo held
the elbow length bouffant veil to
complete her ensemble. She
carried a cascade of pink roses
and white stephanotis.
Matron of honor, Mrs. Marion
McClure, RR 4, Walton, sister of
the bride, was gowned in a berry
pink sleeveless pant gown styled
with scoop neckline, a band of
guipure lace around the empire
waist and daisies scattered over
the bodice. Bridesmaids, Mrs.
Ann McMillan, London, Gwen
McLean, Hensall, sister of the
groom and Mrs. Shirley Proctor,
Scarboro, cousin of the bride
were dressed in white pant gowns
identical to the matron of honour
with pink daisy trimming. All
wore pink headresses of silk
illusion with a double row of
white pearls on the front, and
pink gloves. They carried white
parasols trimmed with lace and
miniature pink and raspberry
carnations.

A wedding dinner was held in
the Fellowship Hall which was
tastefully decorated and later in
the evening a reception was held
in the Zurich Community Centre
at which the young couple were
presented with a gift of money.
For their wedding trip to
Washington, D.C. and Cape Cod,
the bride chose a pink crepe pant
outfit with white wet look shoes
and purse.
The young couple will reside
in London where they are both
employed.
Prior to her wedding the
popular bride was entertained at
several showers.
Those honoring her were Mrs.
