Barbara Grieve, Denfield, were
bridesmaids. They chose
rainbow patterned georgette
gowns in Juliet style, with short
flared sleeves,. Mohair picture
hats complemented their gowns
and they carried baskets of
multi-colored garden flowers.
Michelle Sarazen, London,
guest soloist, sang before the
processional and during the
signing of the register.
The groom's brother, David
Keating was best man, and Gerry
Richard, Ingersoll, and David
Grainger, Toronto ushered the
guests.
Master Danny Scarrow of
Burlington was ring bearer, Gary
Middleton was Companolger and
David Greene, the bride's
brother, was Server.
After the reception at the
Exeter Curling Club the
newly-weds left for a wedding
trip to the Laurentians. The
bride travelled in a baby blue
ensemble with white accessories.

reside in London,

To the strains of the
processional hymn Praise My
Soul, Marilyn Gascho was
escorted into Emmanuel United
Church, Zurich, by her father to
take her marriage vows with John
Geiger. She is the daughter of Mr.
& Mrs. Allan Gascho and the
groom's parents are Mr. & Mrs.
Newell Geiger, Zurich.
The church was decorated
with baskets of yellow, white and
mauve flowers and the ceremony
was performed by Rev. John
Huether. Organist Mrs. Beatrice
Hess supplied the music and
accompanied the soloist Mrs.
Stuart Steckle.
The bride chose a wedding
gown of crystal peau de sole with
short puffy sleeves, stand up
collar and empire waistline,
accented with Swiss lace trim. A
cathedral train was attached to
the gown at the back waist and a
full length veil was held by a
crown of lace petals and seed
pearls. The bridal bouquet was of
yellow roses and orchids with
mauve and yellow streamers.
Carol Gascho was maid of
honor while Linda and Maura
Gascho were bridesmaids. They
wore soft mauva' crepe chiffon
over taffeta gowns with
re-embroidered trim on the
bodices and carried posy yellow
roses and mauve mums.
The best man was Stuart
Steckle and the guests were
ushers by Cameron Witner and
Robert Manson.
The wedding reception was
held at the Zurich Community
Centre, after which the bride
donned a smart navy and yellow
ensemble with navy accessories to
travel to Northern Ontario with
her husband.
Mr. Geiger is a graduate of the
University of Waterloo and
Althouse College and will teach in
London. Mrs. Geiger is employed
at the University of. Western
Ontario.

exchanged wedding rings and
vows when they were married in
Trivia Memorial Anglican
Church, July 4, 1970 by the
Rev. G. A. Anderson, D.F'.C.,
Dip.Th. before a setting of white
gladioli, ferns, baskets of
summer flowers and tapers. The
guest pews were marked with
white satin bows and shamrocks.
The parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. Murray A. Greene,
and Mr. and Mrs. Melbourne E.
Keating, all of Exeter.
As the organist, Robert
McIntosh, played Trumpet
Tunes and Airs, the bride was
escorted down the aisle by her
father.
She was charming in a
floor-length wedding gown of
lagoda styled with a Chantilly
lace bodice, elbow-length sleeves
and A-line skirt. A chapel train,
edged with lace, flowed from the
back and a lace petal cluster,
trimmed with seed pearls held
the four-tiered illusion face veil.
Her bouquet was white roses and
ivy.
Lynda Blanchard, London,
was maid of honour, and
Margaret Belak, Alvinston, and
Amid bouquets of shasta
mums, potted ferns and
candelabra, Rev. J. M. Finlay
united in marriage Maxine Wilma
Byers and Norman William Hyde
at Knox United Church, Owen
Sound, July 11,1970,
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Byers,
RR 4 Owen Sound, are the
bride's parents and Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey Hyde, RR 1 Hensali, are
the parents of the groom.
Victor' Kerslake supplied the
organ music and Mrs. William
Scott, Ridgetown, was the guest
soloist.
Her father escorted the bride
down the aisle and she was
lovely in an empire waisted
A-line bonded crepe gown with
lily point sleeves, rounded
neckline and empire waist. The
chapel train and headpiece were
trimmed with hand crocheted
lace medallions and a tiered
elbow-length veil completed the
bridal ensemble. Her bouquet
was of shasta mums.
Catherine Anderson,
Ridgetown, was maid of honour,
while Margaret Hyde, sister of
the groom and Mrs. Stanley
Frank were bridesmaids. They
wore floor-length, empired,
A-line dresses of mint green voile
over taffeta. Their headpieces
were miniature shasta mums. and
they carried ball shaped
bouquets of shasta mums.
James Hyde, Brampton, was
best man for his brother, while
Frederick Hyde, Ottawa,
another brother, and Stanley
Frank, Owen Sound, were
ushers.
The wedding guests were
entertained at Derby
Community Hall, Owen Sound,
after which the bride donned a
yellow suit and hat with white
accessories to travel with her
husband to the northern United
States.
The couple will reside at 115
Wellington Crescent, Huron
Park.
Mr. Hyde is employed with
the Animal Health Technology
Course, at Centralia College of
Agricultural Technology, Huron
Park.

Father Paul Ouetette
performed the marriage rites for
his nephew, Paul John Porteous
and his bride, Sandra Patricia
Adamson, at Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Catholic Church, July 11,
1970.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. & Mrs. H. F. W. Adamson,
Exeter, and the parents of the
groom are Mr. & Mrs. P. E.
Porteous, Oakville.
Entering the church on the
arm of her father the bride was
lovely in a gown of white chiffon,
the skirt of which fell from a
bodice of daisied lace. A daisy
appliqued headpiece held a
chapel length veil of white
illusion. She wore her mother's
heirloom locket and carried a
circle of blue cornflowers and
white stephanotis.
Karen Dawn Adamson was
maid of honor for her sister and
Patricia Ann Lackie, Oakville,
was bridesmaid. They wore high
waisted dresses, gathered in the
back with daisy trimmed bows of
pale blue grosgrain and carried
colonial nosegays of yellow
rosebuds,, white daisies and
baby's breath.
The junior bridesmaids,
Shelley Page Adamson and
Christine Marie Lackie were
charming in A-line dresses of pale
blue grosgrain. They carried small
colonial nosegays of yellow and
white flowers.
Peter Porteous was best man
for his brother and the guests
were ushered by Michael
Adamson and George Porteous.
The wedding guests were
entertained at a reception at
Oakwood Inn, Grand Bend, after
which the bride changed to a pale
blue linen dress with white
accessories.
Mr. & Mrs. Porteous will reside
in Oakville.
