Milton Phillips, general
manager of Midwestern Ontario
Development Council, told
Exeter council this week that a
recent tour in the region by
several development officers
should bring greater attention
from these men.
This inforMation was
contained in a letter to council
regarding the trip and Exeter's
objection to the fact they were
not included on the tour.
Members of the tour included
industrial development officers
of several banks, railways and
service companies engaged in
aiding. companies seeking
industrial and commercial sites.
Phillips said his reaction to
Exeter's complaint about not
being included on the tour "is to
say congratulations for being a
wide-awake town council that has
demonstrated their keen
initiative in being really
interested in taking advantage of
an opportunity to promote their
community".
He went on to explain most of
the men from Toronto had to
arise at 5:00 a.m. to start the trip,
and by missing Exeter, they were
able to get an hour's rest before
having dinner in Goderich.
Phillips said the bus tour was a
resounding success and he
enclosed several letters from
those on the tour who indicated
they were pleased to have the
opportunity to get a first-hand
look at this part of Ontario.
During the tour of CFB
Clinton, members of the Exeter
Industrial Development
Committee presented a speech to
the tour members on the

Grand Bend Cof C
ask for change
Grand Bend Chamber of
Commerce has requested the
London Free Press to distribute
the Sarnia and Lainbton edition
in Grand Bend rather than the
Huron, Perth edition.
This recommendation stems
from the fact that 75% of the
resort town tax dollar goes to
municipal or educational
developments in Lamb ton, and
better coverage would be
achieved in these areas with the
Sarnia edition,
The C of C feels further that
regional and South Huron news is
adequately covered by The
Exeter Times-Advocate,
The Chamber has also aSked
storekeepers to assist village
