Margaret Haist sang,

Sunday, the Chancel Rails,
manufactured by Exeter
Furniture Factory were
dedicated to the Glory of God
and the memory of Irvine Ross
O'Neil. They were the gift of Mrs.
Pearl O'Neil and family. Alton
and Ruth presented the oak rails
to Rev. Carson for dedication.
Mr. Carson preached on the
theme Fighting Fathers of Faith.
He said attachment to mother
usually speaks of love and
tenderness and sacrifice, but
attachment for father reflects
pride, strength and security.
Fathers fight for food, shelter,
clothing and protection for their
families.
Mr. Carson said Fathers need
solitude, work that is honest and
constructive, standards to live by,
a centre for loyalty and purpose,
and appeal.
He concluded by saying that
we will not see the reason for
solitude or honest work, or high
standards if we are loyal to less
than the best. God is the best we
know, and Jesus is the way to
know God.
As fathers intent upon
restoring a vital faith in ourselves
and families, he urged Christ be
the centre of loyalties, ambitions
and existence.
