FRED BOWDEN Judy Blair, bride-elect, was guest of honour at a miscellaneous shower in the schoolroom of the United Church, Friday evening. Decorations in a color scheme of yellow and white made an at tractive setting for the occasion. Taking part on the program • were Marikay Hodgins who favoured with a piano solo; a reading by Margaret Haist and a piano duet by Patti and Mary Lou Tasko. The address was read by Mrs. Ross McFalls. Mrs. John Thomas and Joanne Hicks assisted in displaying the gifts. Judy expressed appreciation for the lovely gifts. Progressive euchre was played and winners were: ladies high, Mrs. Ken Baker; men's high, Bob Adams; ladies low, Nancy England; men's low, Bill Wasnidge; most lone hands, Fred Gibson. Ken Baker read an address to the young couple and the gift of a swag lamp was presented to them by Bill Finkbeiner. Mr. & Mrs. Dietrich expressed their appreciation. MORENZ REUNION The 19th annual Morenz reunion was held at Brodhagen Community Centre Sunday with 50 in attendance. President Ross Kahle welcomed everyone. Winners of children's races and games were Jackie Chaffe, Greg Kahle, Carolyn Wilhelm, Jo-anne Clark, Bonnie Sangster, Gwen Kahle, and Andrew Jeffrey. Brian Trevithick and Gordon Morley attended the picnic • at Strathroy, Sunday along with three thousand people to welcome Prime Minister Trudeau. Brinsley United Church is holding its annual picnic at Lieury Park, June 28. In case of rain it will be held on the church grounds. Special prizes were youngest father, Bob Chaffe, Mitchell oldest father, Rhinold Kahle, Mitchell; farthest distance, Henry Kahle, Detroit. After a smorgasbord supper a short business meeting followed and it was decided to, hold the reunion in Mitchell next year.
