Track meet
in London
June 22, more than 600
students from 31 of the
Middlesex County Board of
Education's schools will take part
in a day-long track and field meet
at the J.W. Little Memorial
Stadium at the University of
Western Ontario in London.
The event will bring together
the finalists from four area track
meets held recently in various
parts of the county and that
involved 2500 students.
The county track and field
meet will be the first county-wide
finals competition sponsored by
the Inter-School Sports
Organization for elementary
schools. It will be officially
opened by Director of Education
John A. Gummow at 9:25 and
will conclude with the
presentation of awards about
3:45 p.m.
Director of the event will be
Dorchester High School's head of
boys' physical education, Fred R.
Waltham. He has co-ordinated the
work of the Inter-School Sports
Committee. Members of this
committee are Jerome Carlyle of
M.B. McEachden School in
