PAIR OF HOMERS Home runs by Lloyd Mathers and Joe Regier in the sixth inning powered the Crediton Tigers to their 13-9 win over the Kinsmen. The other damaging blow to the Kinsmen cause was three run homer by Jim Pfaff in the Crediton half of the fourth frame. Craig Davidson led the Kinsmen batting attack with a home run and a pair of singles. John Wright and Jack Glover each added a pair of singles. Brian Hodgins was the winning pitcher for Crediton while John Cross and Bob Callingham shared First tourney at local green Exeter bowlers finished second and third in the first open tourney of the year held Wednesday at the local bowling green. First prize in the men's pair competition went to a rink skipped by Bob McIntosh of Ailsa Craig with three wins and a plus of 28. Close behind with the same number of victories and a plus of 20 was the combination of Ray Smith and Bill Etherington of Exeter. Placing third as the top two game winner of the event was the entry of Ross Taylor and Russ Snell. First prize in Saturday's regular jitney was Ross Taylor with two wins, a plus of 13 and aggregate of 29. Girlie Ince was second and husband Howard finished third. Ivan Hill was fourth. HOLE-IN-ONE The second hole-in-one within one week at the Ausable golf course was fired Friday alight by Gar Johnston of Exeter. Johnston, a local post office employee playing with Mike Cushman, Dave McAdam and Lloyd Greenacre fired his ace on the 135-yard fourth hole. pitching duties for the Kinsmen. BOURNE LEADS ATTACK Bill Bourne collected five hits, including three home runs in leading the junior Hawks to their 26.8 win last week over Dashwood Industries. Next in line was Bill Farquhar with a round-tripper, triple and three singles. Other home runs were hit by 'Terry Bourne, Greg Revington, Ron Janke and Paul Mason. Barry Baynham had two doubles and a single to his credit. Baynham started on the mound for the Hawks and was relieved in the first inning by ' Greg Revington. Dale Skinner, Lou Desjardine and Dave Elston shared pitching chores for DIL. Horse show a success Mid-Western Quarter Horse Show The Mid-Western Quarter Horse Show sponsored by the Exeter Saddle Club held in Lucan Saturday was again successful with 220 entries. The Grand Champion Stallion award was won by George Downham of Strathroy while the Grand Champion gelding was shown by Paul Oswald of Waterloo. Grand Champion mare was won by Russel Tyink of New York and showmanship at halter honors went to Karen Babcock, Dresden. The registered Cutting winner was Dale Purdy of Woodbridge and the Youth Western Pleasure winner was John Abra, Sarnia. Other winners were - Junior Pleasure - Paul Oswald, Waterloo; Western Riding Greg Rapson, Milton; Youth Western Riding - Donna Reese, Sarnia; Senior Pleasure - Jim Babcock, Dresden; English Pleasure - Debbie Coverdale, Campbellville; Junior Reining-Dick Warren; Senior Reining - Paul Oswald; Barrel Race - Jim Duffy, Sarnia; Youth Reining - John Abra; Trail Class - Jim Cosford, St. Agatha. The challenge and Canadian high point trophy was won by Paul Oswald of Waterloo and the American high point youth winner was John Abra of Sarnia. The judge for the afternoon was J.R. Beasley of Virginia while Don Nye of Hamilton was area manager and Fred Darling of Exeter was the announcer. The Crediton pee wees came up with two wins in Western Ontario Athletic Association play over the past week to up their season record to four wins in five outings. Wednesday, the Crediton youngsters walloped Mitchell 24-13 and Tuesday night they edged Goderich 7-6. Tonight, Dashwood boys get easy victory The Dashwood midgets won their second straight lopsided win over Goderich in WOAA play at the lakeport town, Monday night by a score of 20-6. The Dashwood boys put together 22 hits and took advantage of nine bases on balls given up by the Goderich pitchers. • a 8' Length. '10' Length. 12' Length. Thursday Huron Park invades Crediton for their second meeting of the season. The only Creditor' loss was by a 2-0 count to Dashwood, Against Goderich, Perry Preszcator doubled and Mike Desjardine and Marty Martens stroked singles in the tirst inning to give the Crediton club their first three runs. In the fourth a similar three run outburst was powered by a triple from the bat of Desjardine and Larry Clarke's double. Howard Schenk also scored after walking. The seventh and winning run for Crediton was scored in the fifth by Wally Fydenchuk. Mike Desjardine and Jeff Jensen shared the pitching duties for Crediton. Goderich scored three times in the first inning, added one in the third and came close with a two run rally in the seventh and final inning.
