ball leagues that could include softball and baseball,
Boys and girls attending the local public and
separate scht, -'s are now participating in house league
games after school each day but this program will be
completed next Friday.

The Ladies' Legion Auxiliary is making a donation
to the cost of installation of the pool heater,

season at the expense of the
other.
In Dashwood, Sunday night,
the Dashwood Tigers downed the
Hensall Merchants 10-6 in a game
that was held up with a light
failure and then called off due to

GOOD RELIEVING
Dashwood's playing coach
Bob "Eppie" Wein came on in
relief pitching role in the fifth
inning and kept the Hensall
batters at bay the rest of the way.
With the Tigers leading 9-4 in
the top of the fifth, the
Merchants rallied with Bill
Shaddick, Gary Kyle and Harry
Moir singling to produce one run
off starter Dick Bedard.
A walk followed to load the
bases and Tiger manager Glenn
Webb brought Wein in from the
bull pen and he proceeded to
strike out the next two batters to
retire the side.
In the sixth 'Wein fanned two
, more and struck out one in the
seventh before rain forced
cancellation of the contest.
Hensall took a 3-2 lead in the
first inning and the club each
scored twice in the second before
the Tigers went ahead to stay in
the third.
Singles by Gary Kyle and
Harry Moir and Bill Shaddick's
two-bagger were responsible for
the first inning Hensall scoring.
Back-to-back doubles from
the bats of Bob Hoffman and Pete
Ravelle produced the first two
Dashwood markers.
Bob McNaughton's homer
with playing coach Bob Lavery
aboard in the top of the second
sent the Merchants out in front
5-2.
A couple of Hensall errors and
a single by Stan Lovie and Joe
O'Rourke's double put the Tigers
within one run of tying the score
in the bottom of the same frame.
O'Rourke blasted a triple with
Jim Hay ter and Whitey
Denomme on base in the third to
give the Dashwood boys a lead
they never relinquished.
The Tigers broke the game
open with three runs in the fourth
without the aid of a hit taking
advaenrtrage of a couple of walks and on.
Jim Hayter's second hit of the
night, this time a double sent Bill
Schade home with the final
Dashwood score in the fifth.
Bill Shaddick went the route
on the mound for Hensall giving
up seven hits but was in trouble
because of wildness and erratic
fielding by his mates, He led the
Hensall hitters with two doubles
and a single to his credit.
triple accounted for the second
and Bob Pinter's single and a
