Church anniversary service, Sunday, and visited with Mr. & Mrs. Ken Greb. Exeter UCW plans bazaar Mrs. E. Jackson spoke of her visit to the Clothing Distribution Centre in Toronto where used clothing is sorted, disinfected and packed in bales for shipping at the regular meeting of Unit I, UCW. She had also visited the United Church House and told of the work of the Fred Victor Mission. Leader Mrs. Wellington Brock gave the plans for the November bazaar and Mrs. Hector Murray reported from the Program Workshop she attended in Clinton recently. Mrs. S. Hendrick presented the devotions and Mrs. B. M. Francis played a piano solo. Mrs. T. Coates was in charge of the program. There is a magic in the memory of schoolday friendships. Disraeli By MRS. Mrs. Bell named deputy matron At the annual district meeting held in London, Mrs. Wm. J. F. Bell of the Exeter Chapter, No. 222, was elected District Deputy Grand Matron of District No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star for the ensuing year. Mrs. Howard Perry of London Chapter is the retiring D.D.G.M. June 10, Scott Reid, Grand Chaplain of the Grand Chap ter of Ontario, and the chaplains of District V will be special guests of the local chapter. The draw on the Plume of Friendship quilt will be made at the birthday party meeting in September. An inspiring message on the theme Love was given by Patricia Miner. During the service a presentation of money gifts was made by all youth groups for the Dedication to Missions which were accepted by Miss Ruth Skinner. Graduation ceremonies were conducted for the Explorers and Tyros by their respective leaders Mrs. Stewart Miner and Howard Pm. Dianne Hutton, Mary Kernick, Valerie Glanville, Janet Bray, Sandra Stewart, Elaine Stewart were received into the CGIT by Mrs. Jack Stewart. Tyros Ray Glanville, Robbie Stewart, Ronnie Stewart, Keith Passmore, Dale Plssmore and Brian Mayer graduated into Sigma C. The girls choir and junior choir assisted by Judy Parsons and Carolyn Glanville on the guitars David Parsons read the scripture. ANNIVERSARY The Elimville Sunday School anniversary service will be observed June 28. Rev. Charles J. Scott, chaplain of the London Psychiatric Hospital will be guest speaker. PERSONALS There will be no services at Elimville Sunday June 21, due to Thames Road Anniversary. The Huron County Library books will be exchanged at Elimville Church June 18. All books must be handed in by June 14. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Pym attended the graduation at the Stratford School of Nursing when Shirley Docking received her RN diploma. Mrs. Delmer Skinner of Elimville displayed numerous useful and eye-catching novelties and gave an interesting description of how they were made. Mrs. Sam Skinner presided for the business and requested that clothing for the bale be brought to the church as early as possible. The bale will be packed this month. Plans for the bus trip to Kitchener in July were outlined. ANNIVERSARY SERVICE Rev. Walton Tonge of London, who served as a missionary in Hong Kong for several years, delivered an inspiring anniversary message to a large congregation in the United Church, Sunday morning. He urged his listeners to take advantage of the resources God has given them. Contact with God is needed as individuals. The choir sang an anthem and the offertory music was an organ and piano duet by Mrs. Hodgins and Marikay. Mrs. Russell Wilson sang a solo with organ and violin accompaniment by Mrs. Hodgins and Rev. Wilson. The ushers were Ken Greb and Borden Smyth. The services in Centralia church will be cancelled Sunday in favour of the Anniversary service in the church atZion.
