Industrialists tour Huron
Thirty-five industrialists,.
trade commissioners and
government officials will be
taken on a tour of Huron
County June 9 in an attempt to
attract industry to the area, a
Clinton official said Tuesday
night.

Denomme, chairman of the
linton industrial committee
said a focal point of the tour will
be the inspection of Canadian
Forces Base Clinton, a few miles
south of here which is due to be
phased out by the federal
government in September, 1971.
He said the tour is sponsored
by the Midwestern Ontario
Development Area council and
will include separate inspections
of Perth and Bruce counties.
Mr. Donomme said
government representatives will
include officials of the federal
department of trade and
commerce and the Ontario
Development Corporation.
Inspection of the CFB
installation, a former air station
and military training centre, will
be led by .Capt, R, S. Cummings,
technical services officer at the
base, who retires June 1 to
assume the position of
co-ordinator of the Huron
County development committee.

Mr. and Mrs. Manford Luther
celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary May 14, when their
family'` surprised them with a
dinner party at the Zurich Hotel.
The occasion was also the 15th
wedding anniversary of their son,
Lorne and his wife.
Later in the evening friends
and neighbors, Mr. and Mrs.
Raymond Kading, Mr. and Mrs.
Ed. Turnbull, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Miller, Wayne and Glen shivareed
the celebrants.
Julie Luther entertained the
guests by playing her accordion.
Refreshments were served and
a social evening was enjoyed.
RUBY HULVERT
Mrs. Fred (Ruby) Hulvert
passed away at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Hamilton, May 15,
1970 in her 77th year.
She was formerly of 10 King
Street, Dundas, and was the wife
of the late Fred Hulvert.
Surviving is her son, Donald of
Grand Bend.
Mrs. Hulvert donated her body
to McMaster University for
medical research.
MARRIED IN KITCHENER
Mrs. Dorothy Quinlivan and
Karl Ohmayer of Grand Bend
were united in marriage at
Highland Road United Church,
Kitchener, May 15, 1970 by the
Rev. A. Holley.
Their attendants were Mr. and
Mrs. Cecil Van Horne and the
reception followed at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Norry,

Norwegian law provides for a
four-week vacation for
housewives, according to the
American Automobile
Association. Government funds
are earmarked for holiday camps
to aid housewives who otherwise
could not afford a vacation.

Mrs. Ken Hodgins, Mrs. Lorne
Hicks, Mrs, M. Buswell and Miss
Margaret Cook were in charge of
the program for the May meeting
of the U.C.W. held in the
schoolroom of the church,
Thursday evening. Mrs. Ken
Hodgins presided.
The Scripture reading was
given by Mrs. Lorne Hicks and
was followed by an illustrative
talk on prayer using the hand and
each finger demonstrating for
what and for whom to pray.
Piano solos were played by
Pearl Buswell and Penny Smith
and a reading was given by Mrs.
Buswell. Mrs, Hodgins spoke on
Biafra and Seed Faith,
Mrs. Hicks stressed the value
of used stamps and outlined the
method to follow when cutting
the stamps from the envlopes. A
poem was read by Mrs. Hodgins.
Mrs. Sam Skinner was in the
chair for the business, She
expressed appreciation for the
help received in making the
Blossom tea a success.
A bus trip to Kitchener has
been arranged for July 8th.
Mrs. Russell Wilson sang a solo
and the program committee were
the hostesses.
