The assistant leader is Henry DeVlugt. Officers elected were president, Jan Biebner; vice-president, Beth Dorman; secretary-treasurer, Anne Biebner; press reporter, Susan Hardy. The members discussed the program for the coming year and the assistant leader gave pointers on picking out a good dairy calf. Another graduate of South Huron is Gordon Jones, son of Mrs. Dorothy Jones, Centralia, Gordon plans to farm after graduation. Graduating exercises from the Centralia College of Agricultural Technology, and the official opening of the Veterinary Services Laboratory will take place May 13. Minister of Agriculture, William Stewart and Treasurer, C. S. MacNaughton will officiate at a ribbon cutting ceremony at the laboratory at 1:30 p.m. The dignitaries will then move to duron Hall for the unveiling of a plaque which will officially open the new laboratory, and where the graduation exercises will be conducted. The guest speaker for the convocation is Mr. Stewart, About 72 students will daduate from three courses, ome Economics, Animal Health Technology and for the first time from C.C.A.T. campus, Animal Health Technology. Mrs. Lorne Hicks visited with Mrs. Andrew Hicks in the Listowel Hospital, Friday. Mrs. Andrew Hicks who is the oldest member of Centralia United Church observed her 94th birthday recently. BOWDEN. Marikay Hodgins was a weekend visitor at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Don Pickering and family at Hyde Park. Mr. & Mrs, Ken Greb spent the weekend with Mrs. Greb's mother, Mrs. Amos Smith, in Mount Albert and called on Mrs. Andrew Hicks in the Listowel Hospital on the way home.
