The first Exemplar Chapter
,of Beta Sigma Phi to be ft:gilled
in Exeter held its beginning
meeting, and installed a slate of
officers at the home of Mrs. Joe
Wooden, Exeter, Tuesday night.
Mrs. Wooden is the president
and her executive includes Mrs.
Ted Jones, vice-president; Mrs.
Don Caiser, ..corresponding
secretary; Mrs. Richard Weber,
recording secretary and Mrs. Bill
Essery, treasurer.
There are 20 members in the
newly formed group and to
qualify for admittance to an
Exemplar Chapter a member
must have comPleted four study
books of the Beta Sigma Phi
program.
The chapter will be known as
Ontario XI Gamma Nu, No.
X3674. The charter members
are:

home visited
Alpha Pi Chapter of Beta
Sigma Phi Sorority toured
London Art Museum, Tuesday
evening, where they viewed the
Garden Club exhibition 'Arts in
Bloom'.
They also visited Eldon
House, the oldest home in
London, which was built by the
Harris family in 1834, and
bequeathed to the city of
London in 1960.
The furniture is from all
periods and the appointments
include many valuable and
antique pieces collected from all
over the world.
The Sorority sisters topped
the evening off with a supper at
the Knotty Pine.

at Hurondale Institute LUMBER and PLYWOOD PRICES DOWN The executive meeting report
for the District W.I. was
presented by Mrs. Mac Hodgert,
and 4-H Achievement Day will
be May 9 at South Huron
District High School.
Delegates were appointed to
attend the District Annual, May
21, in Hensall.
TRIVITT MEMORIAL
The May meeting of Trivitt
Memorial ACW was held
Monday evening in the Parish
Hall, with Mrs. M. Fletcher as
hostess. Devotions were given by
Mrs. A. Carter, and the business
meeting was conducted by Mrs.
E. L. Gibson.
A bus trip to Brantford and
Caledonia has been planned for
June 3 with further details to be
announced later.
The annual Chicken Barbecue
will be held later in May, on the
church grounds.
A Chancel Guild meeting,
following the Ascension Day
Communion service will be held
Thursday.
Reports were given, and the
meeting adjourned with the
Mizpah benediction, conducted
by Mrs. G. Anderson.
Entertainment with a
Mother's Day theme was
provided by members of the
ACW, and followed by a
sing-along.
PENTECOSTAL WMC
The WMC of Exeter
Pentecostal Church met at the
home of Mrs. Bruce Cann for
their monthly meeting. The roll
call was answered with a Bible
verse containing the word
triumph.
The president, Mrs. K.
McLaren opened the meeting
with devotions assisted by Mrs.
D. Finkbeiner.
Mrs. Charles Hoffman sang a
solo and Sister F. Rhude gave an
inspiring - message about
frustrations in our life.
Business was discussed and
several thank you letters were
read. Mrs. E. Desjardine gave
some of the higihlights of the
WMC Rally held at Harriston.
Several quilts were donated
to Missions and $25.00 voted for
an adopted child in Hong Kong.
Mrs. N. Kleinfeldt gave a
reading and Mrs. C. Kipfer
closed the meeting.
The nominating committee of
Hurondale Women's Institute
brought in the new slate of
officers at the annual meeting,
April 29.
The new president is Mrs.
Harold Patterson and her
officers and committees are as
follows: first vice-president, Mrs.
Garnet Hicks; second
vice-president, Mrs. Carl Mills;

for the hospital and Mrs. Garnet
Hicks gave the report for the
Huronview Auxiliary. A spring
tea will be held at Huronview,
June 3.
