How
on Earth
is it That
despite a tremendous rise in the cost of just about all basic materials, goods, services and wages, the Exeter
Public Utilities Commission can keep on expanding its services by putting thousands of dollars into a new
transformer station, adding miles of power lines, erecting modern street lighting and loads and loads of
ancillary equipment to meet the ever increasing electrical needs of the Town of Exeter? Do yoU know that
in the last 10 years our Commission has increased the total value of utility property and equipment from
$216,450.95 to $639,376.51! However, during this period the average residential cost per kilowatt hour
decreased from 1.26c per KWH to 1.22c per KWH.
Fact is: We Can't
We are not super human. Rates will still be low but as from July 1, 1970 billing will show a long delayed
yet modest increase.
