IQ, .1970 CORDIALE 70 * No-Frost * 100-Pound Freezer * Special Storage Meat, Eggs, Slide-Out, Participants in the Exeter minor bowling program upheld their enviable record of consuming more than 600 hot dogs at the annual banquet held at the Exeter Legion Hall, Monday night. Ruth Durand who has been in charge of the minor bowling program for many years and is treated like "a mother" by everyone of the youngsters said Eddie Hunter-Duvar was the unofficial hot dog eating champion. Mothers of the enthusiastic young bowlers served the hot dogs, ice cream and refreshments under the supervision of Mrs. Irene Harness who looks after the kitchen duties year after year. Trophy presentations were varied and many ranging from team awards and individual honors to the youngsters showing the greatest bowling improvement throughout the year. Awards for bowlers reaching single scores of 300 and 350 were presented by Grace Farquhar on behalf of the Exeter Bowling Lanes. The high scores were Bev MacDonald 365, Lynne Farquhar 334 and Jim Brintnell with scores of 300 and 308. The soft drinks and ice cream were donated by Tuckey Beverages and York Ice Cream, respectively while the Exeter men's and ladies' leagues assisted financially. Any deficit on the cost of the hot dogs will be underwritten by Exeter's RAP committee. Bowlers devour hot dogs, most improved. are honored By MRS. HEBER DAVIS A missionary service was held in St. Patricks Parish Hall Sunday evening. Rev. H. Rokby-Thomas introduced Mrs. Rokby-Thomas who gave a very interesting- illustrated talk on the three years they spent in the arctic. She spoke kindly of the generous and friendly Eskimo and told many interesting stories of their northern experiences. Wayne Carroll, thanked the speaker and Bill Lambourne, London favoured with a solo. Mr. & Mrs. Earl Greenlee, Larry and Leslie were Sunday guests with the former's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Greenlee, Exeter. Mrs. Ada Ings, Albert Nicols, Bill Lambourne, London, were guests with Mr. & Mrs. Harry Carroll and Wayne, Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Maurice MacDonald, Grand Bend, visited Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Charles Tindall were guests Thursday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Bob Tindall. A dollar may buy a lot less these days— but it doesn't buy less Volkswagen. TOP INDIVIDUAL MINOR BOWLERS ARE HONORED — Trophies were presented at Monday's minor bowling banquet to the top average, single and double scorers in each age division. JUNIOR AND SENIOR CHAMPIONS — The junior championship of the Exeter minor league was taken by the Dodgers and the Knock-em-Downs took the senior title. The Silver Darts won the boys' title and captain Michael Hunter is shown at the left receiving the Weber trophy from men's league president Gord Kirk.
