It certainly was a "Childhood Fantasy, which was proved by the admiration of kindergarten and grade 1 & 2 classes, from neighbouring schools, who were in to see the decorations, Monday morning. Tuesday of this week, grade 13 students who are planning to attend Teachers' College next year toured the London Teachers' College. They were shown around the college by former students from South Huron District High School and also attended some of their classes. The local students were given a "pep talk" by Mr. Elford, vice-president of the London school. Making the trip from South Huron were Ilona Kayes, Marg Hunkin, Rebecca Taylor, Martha Gascho, Rob West, Connie Johnston, Bev Passmore, Linda Knight, Elaine Westlake, Judy Creces and Linda Haugh. A representative from London Teachers' College will be at the local school, Friday to interview prospective applicants for next year's course. * * Present Teachers' College students that acted as guides for the visitors were Ruth Ann King, Barb Elliott, Joyce Dayman and Susan Allen. * * At the Huron-Perth badminton tournament held Saturday the South Huron team placed sixth and Sheila Willert gained a second place finish in girls' singles. Administrator for Continuing Education in Huron County. In making the announcement, Aubrey W. Hagar, Director, Innovative and Continuing Education said, "Mr. Milton's appointment is a significant step in the College's growth and its ability to respond to community needs in the western sector of this area. The Administrator's prime function is to facilitate learning opportunities for all citizens through the development of rescources in the locality and from the College." Mr. Milton, born and raised on a farm, has lived eleven years in Huron County. He is looking forward to returning and renewing his membership at the Brucefield United Church. His broad experience has been in industry, the Armed Forces, and in working with people. After his years with the Royal Canadian Airforce as an electronics instructor, he joined the Technology faculty of the College. He holds membership in the Institute of. Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Mr. Milton's interest in Boy Scouts is long standing. He is Panel for asthmatics The Annual educational dinner meeting of the Huron-Pertli TB & Respiratory Disease Association will be held in the YM-YWCA, Downie St., Stratford, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. Eight children who attended a recent-Asthmatic Conditioning Course in Stratford will demonstrate the exercises and games used under the direction of Miss Linda Myers, Women's Program Director of the YM-YWCA, Stratford. Walter Davis of the Ontario TBRD Association will moderate a panel on the rehabilitation of the Asthmatic child. The panel will consist of a public health nurse, a dietician, a social worker and a local physician. Mr, Davis has been active for many years in the fields of health and education. An active volunteer as a member of Newfoundland's TB Association, Rotary Club, and Home and School Association, he was a member of the National Advisory Council of Boy Scouts of Canada and a founder of the Canadian Safety League and Past President of the Safety Council of Newfoundland. Mr. Davis represented Canada at the White House Conference on the Handicapped and established the C.A. Pippy Awards for the Handicapped. He was the founder of the Canadian Association for the advancement of Educational Television and the founder of the World Health Foundation — an international memorial to President Kennedy to help promote health in the developing countries. As the honorary president of the Canadian Leprosy Council, of which he was a founder, he helped draft the act passed by parliament respecting the Vocational Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons in Canada. Crackdown on drivers Exeter Police Chief Ted Day advises that members of his force will be continuing their crackdown on local motorists that are creating unnecessary noise by squealing of tires. Day reports that five charges were laid over the weekend. Most of the disturbances occur between midnight and two o'clock in the morning. The local police department has received several complaints from Exeter residents regarding youngsters riding bicycles on the sidewalk and riding on the wrong side of the street. All bicyclists are reminded that bicycle licences will be on sale at the town hall this Saturday from ten o'clock in the morning until, four in the afternoon. The fee is seventy-five cents. Only then will we know what educational "crops" to consider," commented Mr. Milton, who will locate centrally in the County after May 1st. He will not only be working with planning, industrial, and agricultural development groups, but also with social and labour agencies. "Although advisory committees are being considered for the , County, I hope every concerned individual will contact me to share his thoughts." Mr. Milton's hobbies are camping, scouting, and woodworking. One daughter is a teacher, another a secretary. His son attends Waterloo—Oxford Secondary School.
