Every student in the school, will have one vote. The candidates this year, from grade 13 are Judy Burke and Michelle Harrison and from grade 12, Carol Gascho, Patti Glenn, Jean Jennison, Angela Morrissey, and Marlene Rader. A walk through any of the halls in the school, will show the enthusiasm that is always present at the time of the formal, and the crowning of the school queen. Campaign managers and helpers have been busy decorating the halls, with eye-catching and hopefully, vote catching posters. Music at the dance is by the Hi-Fi's. The crowning will take place at 12:00 p.m. The theme of this year's dance is "Babes in Toyland." Tickets which are $5.00 are now on sale. * * * Bill Brady will be master of ceremonies at a Pop Concert presented by the London Symphony Orchestra at the School, Sunday, April 26. * * Rope climbing contests were held last week for boys. The grade nine winners were Jim Regier, (91/2 seconds), Jim Dyke and Gordon Ward tied for second, while Pete Sereda placed third. The grade ten winner was Pete Moore (7.8 seconds) with Gerard Charrette and Joe Wragg, finishing second and third respectively. * * * The Bunny Bundle canoe race was held Sunday, April 19, starting from St. Mary's at 9:00. Five canoes participated from South Huron. * * Get your car clean for the formal! The outers club is having a car wash today and tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, at 3:15, to raise money for the club's expenses, which consist of buying camping equipment. The prices are 75 cents for cleaning just the interior and 75 cents for a wash or $1.25 for both. The outers raised $10,00 at their first car wash held last Thursday. Come out and support this new club. Monday of this week, the grade 11 and 12, technical students toured the General Motors Foundry and Engine Plants in St. Catharines. The boys saw engine blocks being machined, and V-8 engines assembled. They observed the precision machining of crankshafts, and pistons on automated machines operated by hydraulics, electronics and electricity. Skilled tradesmen, such as pattern makers, tool makers, electricians, welders and millwrights, were observed at work. This General Motors plant, produces over 2,400 engines in one day and employs 5,000 people. It is operated 24 hours a day. The assembled engines are sent to Oshawa, to be installed in the various cars, produced by General Motors. By MRS. Danny Anderson, 19, who played most of the 1968-69 season with the Hawks before contacting leukemia is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson, 1175 Princess Avenue, London. Until recently the Anderson family lived at Huron Park. The elder Anderson was a member of the Exeter Mohawks senior hockey clubs of the 1950's.
