The local youngsters went through the regular season and playoff schedule undefeated and edged Lambeth 3-2 in the final game at the Lucan arena to grab the championship. With manager Ron Bogart and coach Bob Pooley in charge, the same club also went to the semi-final round of the annual novice tournament held during the spring school holiday in Brampton. Paul Pooley was the scoring star for the Exeter club in the final game. He fired the winning goal with less than two minutes left in regulation time to gain the victory. Robbie Heard and Brian Horrell assisted on the winning goal. Horrell scored the first goal of the game for Exeter on an unassisted effort and Paul Pooley scored his first with twin brother Perry assisting to give the locals a 2.0 lead. Lambeth scored twice early in the third to tie the score and set the stage for Pooley's game winning shot, THERE are no highway policemen in the interior of Guatemala.
