evening to discuss plans for
Mother's Sunday, Anniversary
Novice club
• wins crown
The Exeter novice club
capped a very successful season
Saturday by winning the
Shamrock novice championship.
The local youngsters went
through the regular season and
playoff schedule undefeated and
edged Lambeth 3-2 in the final
game at the Lucan arena to grab
the championship.
With manager Ron Bogart
and coach Bob Pooley in charge,
the same club also went to the
semi-final round of the annual
novice tournament held during
the spring school holiday in
Brampton.
Paul Pooley was the scoring
star for the Exeter club in the
final game. He fired the winning
goal with less than two minutes
left in regulation time to gain
the victory. Robbie Heard and
Brian Horrell assisted on the
winning goal.
Horrell scored the first goal
of the game for Exeter on an
unassisted effort and Paul
Pooley scored his first with twin
brother Perry assisting to give
the locals a 2.0 lead.
Lambeth scored twice early
in the third to tie the score and
set the stage for Pooley's game
winning shot,

or false quiz on the Indians and
several readings about the
Indians.
A film "The Long Road" in
Manitoba was viewed with
interest.
Sylvia and Donna Stewart
sang several numbers
accompanied by Sylvia, and a
poem was read by Mrs. Stewart.
During the business Mrs.
Dawson read two invitations,
one from Centralia for May 6
and one from Elimville for May
27. Plans for the Strawberry
Supper were discussed.
Group No. 3 served
refreshments under the
leadership of the group leaders
Mrs. William Rowcliffe and Mrs.
