He underwent surgery and was in the extensive care. Randy was coming from the arena on his bicycle on Highway 84 to his home when he was struck by a car driven by Raymond Ducharme of Sarnia. Randy is a grandso,1 of Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Smale, Hensall. O.P.P. Dale Lamont of Exeter ch-',achment investigated. Robert Cameron passes away Robert J. Cameron, 85, a resident of Hensall since 1886 passed away in South Huron. Hospital, Exeter, Thursday, April 2, having been admitted as a patient the day previous to his, death, The late Mr; Cameron was a member of Carmel. Presbyterian Church and in municipal life he served on the Hensall council some sears ago.. Surviving are his wife the former Annabel Foster and one son .Robert Bruce, at home. Funeral services were held from his residence on Nelson Street, Saturday conducted by Rev. W. D. Jarvis. A duet by Mrs. C. Kennedy and daughter, Jean, was sung and accompanied by Miss Greta Lammie. Burial was in Hensall Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Bengough, Bill Clark, Bill Parker, Roy MacDonald, Elgin .Rowcliffe and Jim Black, Hensall personals KINDERGARTEN. Middleton who was a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London returned to her home. Mrs. Earl Campbell is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mrs. Bertha MacGregor, who attended a convention at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto last week, visited over the weekend with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Don MacLaren and family in Scarborough. Double ring ceremony at Hensall United Church Mr, & Mrs. Robert K. Peck, RR 1 Zurich, and Mrs. Grace Peck of Hensall visited Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Peck, the former a patient in the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington and Mrs. Janet Peck, widow of the late Dr. J. W. Peck of Halton Centennial Manor, Milton, Ont. Mr. & Mrs, Ross MacMillan, David, Tommy and baby Ann of Waterloo spent Sunday with the latter's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Holland and Gwen of Clinton visited recently with Mr. & Mrs. James Sangster and Brad. Mrs. Ken McLean returned home from Victoria Hospital, London. Jim Venner is a patient in South Huron Hospital. Mrs. Ron Mason and daughters Tracy and Cindy of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan visited over the weekend with Mrs. Mason's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Glen E. Bell and family. Herb Jones who has been a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London was able to return to his home this week. Mr. & Mrs. Stewart Blackwell, in Exeter. CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS Two cousins will celebrate their 90th birthdays this month. Robert H. Boyce and Mrs. John McMurchey who grew up close together and attended Baird School, west of Brucefield will celebrate these events April 11, for Mr. Boyce and April 19 for Mrs. McMurchey. Long time residents of the Brucefield area they both reside in Hensall now. Hensall United Church was the setting Friday, April 3, 1970 at 8 p.m. when Shirley Marie Smale and Barry Melvin Southcott exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony before the Rev. Harold F. Currie amid a floral background of spring flowers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Smale, Hensall, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Southcott of Exeter. Mrs. John Turkheim, church organist, provided traditional wedding music. Given in marriage by her father the bride was lovely in a traditional flowing gown of silk crepe under sheer nylon with full-length sleeves. She wore a headpiece of white daisies and a shoulder length veil. Her flowers were an elegant cascade of pink roses and white daisy mums. Elaine Randall, Hensall, was maid of honor. She was gowned in a floor-length dress of yellow chiffon over peau de sois which featured an empire waist line. The top was of imported lace with a scooped neckline and bell sleeves. A train of the same lace fell from the shoulder. She wore a matching cluster headpiece and carried a cascade of mauve and white mums. The groom was attended by Randy Parsons, Exeter. A reception was held in the Legion Hall, Hensall. The young couple will reside Hensall UCW have meeting The Easter thankoffering meeting of unit 4, Hensall United Church was held Thursday afternoon. Mrs. James McAllister opened the meeting and the devotional was given by Mrs. George Armstrong and Mrs. Sim Roobol reading the Easter story. Mrs. Earle Rowe gave a talk on "What the Bible says to me". Mrs. McAllister read a poem. The ladies of unit 4 are asked to help with crafts at the Queensway Nursing Home each Monday afternoon from 2-4 during April. Mrs. McAllister expressed thanks to the quilters and also to all those making donations of food and money to help with the church supper which was held April 1. The United Church Women were pleased with the success of their April Fools dinner when over two hundred were served. President Mrs. Vern Alderdice convened the project with her assistants. Trust company leader, former Hensall man, dies Local resident dies in hospital Orval Ranson who retired to Hensall from Clinton fourteen years ago passed away Sunday, April 5, in Victoria Hospital, London, where he had been a patient for eight weeks. He was 75. Surviving are his wife the former Flora Hearn, one son Gordon, RR 3 Clinton, three daughters, Mrs. Murray (Hazel) Milton, Toronto; Mrs. Donald (Lois) James, London; Mrs. Clare (Leona) McBride, RR 1 Zurich; one brother Ira, Goderich and six grandchildren. The funeral services conducted by Rev. Harold F. Currie were held Wednesday from the Bonthron Funeral Home, with interment in Clinton Cemetery. Blanc, Michigan and Mrs. Diana McKay, Flushing, Michigan. Rev. George Anderson, Trivitt Memorial Church, Exeter officiated at the funeral and temporary entombment was in Exeter Mausoleum. Interment will be in McTaggart Cemetery at a later date. Among the pallbearers were Allan A. Lamport, former mayor of Toronto. Others were W. F. Spry, Allan B. Ramsay, Wm. R. Homick, William McKay, and R. S. Riddell, Q.C. A private service was held at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Dashwood, for James Wilson Berry, Chairman of the Board of Guaranty Trust Company of Canada, who died at his home in Montego Bay, Jamaica, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hensall, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Berry, and attended high school in Clinton. He received his B.Sc degree from the University of Detroit. Mr. Berry was a director of many companies including Canadian General Insurance Company, Denison Mines Limited and Traders Finance Corporation. Mr. Berry belonged to many clubs and societies and had a second residence `Berryford', at RR 4 Stouffville, Ontario. He is survived by his wife Eva and a brother, Edward T. Berry of Windsor, two neices, Mrs. Elaine Homick, Grand ACW discuss Proverbs book The ACW of St. Paul's Anglican Church was held April 2 at the home of Mrs. F. Forrest with president Mrs. W. Scrabuik presiding. A letter explaining the Diocesan Thankoffering was read and roll call was verses from the Bible having names of different flowers. The topic by the president was taken from Proverbs and a discussion period followed.
