Staffa Women's Institute was
held in the township- nail on
Wednesday with 1.5 members.
answering roll call with an Irish
joke, A petluck dinner.' was
enjoyed and in the afternoon
four quilts were quilted for the
War Memorial Hospital.
The President, Mrs. Ed.
Chappel, presided and opened
the meeting with the institute
Ode and Mary Stewart Collect.
During the business, members
were reminded of the short
course, "Fashion Cues for You"
to be held in the township hall
in April. Special projects will be
held throughout the year to raise
money to buy stacking tables for
the hail.
Mrs. Glanville gave .a paper on
the motto, St. Patrick, which
had been prepared by Mrs.
Walter O'Brien.
A silent auction was held
which realized $14.60 for the
stacking tables fund,
4-H CLUB
The fifth meeting of the
Staffa No. 1 Karrot Kurlers was
held at the home of Mrs.
Spencer Jeffery, Tuesday
evening. Mrs. Jeffery discussed
the use of vegetables all year
round, fresh and processed. She
also informed 'the members of
the different grades, Canada
standard, Canada Fancy and
Canada choice.
Mrs. Butson discussed frozen
and dehydrated foods. The
leaders also talked about the
common green and yellow
vegetables, stressing that the
deeper.the colour the more food
value.

Canvass for the disabled (March
of Dimes) has been completed in
Hibbert Township. Thanks to
the many Marching Mothers

year's donations, making a total
