T-A photo Hensall curling club hold annual meeting and supper The annual meeting of the Hensel' Curling Club was held in the arena auditorium March 24 with seventy-five present. Before the final games were played everyone enjoyed a "pot luck" supper. Winners of the Goodwin Trophies were Jack Henderson, Ed, Wayne and Al Corbett, over Doug and Kathy Mann, Doug and Bruce Shirray. Middleton Trophie was won by Doug and Carol Cooper, Wayne and Pat McBride over Jack Bell, Harold Caldwell and Lame Hay. First draw: 1. Pollock showed two films about hospital fire prevention to the staff of Queensway Nursing Home Monday evening. Mr. Sangster gave an outline of what could be done in an emergency. NORMAN LONG KIPPEN About. 40 Kippen folk gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken McLennan to honor Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dickert who are leaving to take up residence in Exeter. An evening of entertainment playing euchre was enjoyed. Torn Reid read the address and Wilfred Mellis presented the Dickerts with a table lamp on behalf of their friends. Hurondale WI tour Fire Hall Hurondale Women's Institute met for a dessert meeting with Mrs. Bruce Tuckey in the chair. The theme was safety. Members answered roll call with a tip on how to prevent accidents in the home. The motto, he that stays in the valley never gets over the hill was given by Mrs. R. E. Pooley. Snsen Tuckey played a piano solo and a reading was given by Mrs, Glen Stewart. The President, Mrs. Herold Patterson, took charge of the business when Mrs. Lloyd Ballarityne gave the report of the Huronview Auxiliary, and pines were made to cater to a Curling Club banquet. Draw proceeds to Bunny Bundle Close to $100.00 was realized from the sale of tickets for the Eee-Pr draw, sponsored by Legion Ladies Auxiliary which was donated for the crippled children's fund at Zurich. G. A. Anderson giving an Easter Meeegge. Lady honored at birthday party An enjoyable evening was spent Saturday when Mir. and Mrs. Joe Flynn were hostesses for a fernily gathering in honor of the latter's mother Mrs. Alvina Mooney, who celebrated her eieiteethird birthday. All children in the former Hay Twp. School area from Concessions 3 and 4 and East will register at -the Hensall Public School. The remainder of the former Hay School area will register at the Zurich Public School. Children eligible for Kindergarten Registration must be 5 years old on or before December 31, 1970. Parents should bring proof of age and immunization records. The Present Kindergarten classes will be open for inspection by parents or guardians registering children.
