UNITED CHURCH
Rev. W. C. Tupling chose as
his interesting topic for Sunday
"You, Your Brother, and Your
God".
He announced that "GOOD
NEWS FOR MODERN MAN",
the Bible Society translation of

LEARNING FOR LENT
Lucan United Church was the
scene of a hurrying group of
faithful community folk for its
third Wednesday morning
"Learning for Lent" program.
Mrs. M. H. Hodgins had an
interesting presentation for the
"Armchair Vacation Group"
beginning at Newfoundland,
with the land locked harbour at
St. John's, travelling down
through the Maritimes and into
beautiful Cape Breton. Each
province was visited and the
closing scene was on the edge of
the Pacific from Beacon Hill
Park, at Victoria, B.C., looking
toward the Orient.
Mrs. 0. Iredale, TOPS of St.
Marys was also an enthusiastic
leader in the other interest
group. She has now graduated to
KOPS and explained how these
organizations strengthened her
will-power to take off and keep
off, the weight which has given
her, her life.
After the visitation break the
discussion group for all
continued with Mrs. W. C.
Tupliiig in charge,
Many participated and all
agreed that although freedom
and peace are both universal
aspirations the word "God"
appears to arouse dissention.
Experiences from our world
and our lives were offered and
smaller groups continued the
question further.
The series continues through
March 11 and 18. All are
welcome, and in spite of the
rainy weather 59 adults and 23
children attended the last
meeting,

The annual Royal Canadian

Day Dance will be held on
Saturday, March 14 at the

am lead to believe on this great
day there are only two kinds of

So remember the date and bring

have a brawl, sorry ball.
SECRETARY'S LAMENT
I fell asleep the other night, and
while I had my snooze,
I dreamed each member stepped

But when I found 'twas but a
dream I nearly threw a fit,
It's up to you to make it true,
Suggestions please remit.

overtime period was played with
Hensall scoring to win 3-2,
The second game with
Ilderton saw Lucan take a 2-0
lead into the third period but
Ilderton tied the score and in a 5
minute overtime period Ilderton
scored to make it 3-2 to win the

beating Ilderton in overtime by
shots on goal 15-13 and beating
Henan in their second game 3-0.
In the "C" group Lambeth

twice. They defeated Wilton
Grove 4-3 in their first game and
edged out a 3.2 win over
Saltfleet in the final game.
Wilton Grove, won the "C"

out-classed as they were a "D"
team playing in "C"
competition.
In the "B" group Huron East
