Musical numbers were given by The Village Folk, Zurich, The Thacker Sisters, Harold Levy, Mingle Institute Kitchen Band. Also on the progarn were The February meeting of the Mount Carmel Unit of the P.T.A. was held Thursday evening in the school gymnasium, in the form of a social evening. There was a large turn out of members and visitors. The next meeting will be held on March 12 and at that meeting a draw will take place on a complete Easter Food Hamper. Tickets are on sale now, PERSONALS Mr, & Mrs. Richard Muggee, Chatham spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Charles Dietrich and family. Anne and Angela Regier, London visited over the weekend with their parents, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Regier. Mr. & Mrs. Clem Boland accompanied by Paul Dietrich are enjoying a holiday in Pheonix, Arizona. Martin O'Rourke left last week by plane for a holiday in Florida. Mr. & Mrs. John Morrissey and family attended the funeral of Mrs. Kathleen Abbot in Detroit, the former Kathleen Mulligan who was a sister of Mrs. Morrissey. Many friends and .relatives attended the wake and funeral of Michael Foster, 19, who died suddenly as the result of a car accident last Saturday and rested at Hoffman Funeral Home, Dashwood. Funeral Mass was said at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Wednesday morning with burial in the Parish Cemetery. Michael was the son of Irene and Ray Foster. dances by the Kirkton Tap Dancers and the Exeter Square Dance Group, public speaking skit by Carl Langford, Jim artenburg and Leonard Thacker, drill by The Explorer Girls and two short plays, "Friendly Advice" and "You Can't Believe Your Eyes". WELLWOOD GILL The General' Meeting of Grand Bend UCW was held Tuesday evening with "Stewardship & Recruiting" as the theme which was taken by Mrs. Ed Gill and Mrs. Clarke Kennedy. Mrs. Gerald Love presented the Bible study in the form of a quiz. Mrs. Wm Blewett presided for the business. Final ,. plans were made for the Worlds Day of prayer, March 6th in Grand Bend United Church. Stewart Miner was in charge of the Worship Service at the Lenten Service Sunday evening at the manse when the parents of the young people of the confirmation class attended. Rev. Glen Wright of Exeter United Church spoke to the group. This Saturday evening the young adults of both congregations are having a bowling party in Exeter. HURONDALE V MEETS The meeting of the Hurondale Dashwood men honor farmers By MRS. IRVIN RADER The monthly dinner meeting of Dashwood Men's Club was Farmers' Night with area farmers as guests. Following a turkey dinner, served by the Dashwood W.I., Alvin Wainer conducted a sing song. Special speaker ..was.. John Stewart of Alex M. Stewart & Son Ltd., seed specialists, with an interesting discussion on "Farming in the Future". EUCHRE PARTY Thirteen tables were in play at the Euchre at Dashwood Community Centre, Tuesday. Winners were: ladies' high, Mrs. Ray Rader; men's high, Homer Russell; ladies' low, Mrs. Aaron Restemayer; men's low, Harold Kellerman; lone hands, Elgin Rader. Heather Davis sang two solos. The ladies cut blocks for a quilt and plans were made for the St. Patricks Dessert Euchre. At the close of the meeting Mrs. Thomas complimented Heather Davis on her plans to enter South Huron Hospital, Exeter to take the Nurses training course. Mrs. Ron Carroll presented her with a travel clock from the group. Mrs. Arnold Cunningham was winner of the mystery prize, The children of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dobbs, Freddie and Patti Were guests at a birthday party for their class mate, Mark, son of Dr. & Mrs. Halsworth, London. Mr. & Mrs, Harry Carroll left on Sunday for a two week Vacation in Florida, Mr. & Mrs. Harry Noels, Forest and Mr, & Mrs. Albert Dicki e s, Lambeth, were Saturday evening guests with Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis. Monday the Davis' visited their cousin, Mrs. Ada Walker, London, Mrs, lion Carroll and Brenda Visited Mr. and Mrs, Melvin Gardiner, Exeter and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher, Monday. The election of officers was held and are as follows: president, Beverley Passmore vice-president, Darcy Etherington; secretary, Nancy Alexander; press reporter, Darlene Passmore; treasurer, Marlene Stewart. The leaders are Mrs. Mac Hodgert and Mrs. Jack Stewart. Mrs. Hodgert discussed "Featuring Fruit" and "Requirements of Club members". Mrs. Stewart had a demonstration on "Measurements" and "Temperatures". Joanne Hodgert discussed the "Score Sheet" and what must be done for next meeting. HAPPY DOUBLES' CLUB The Happy Doubles' Club held a bowling party at the Exeter Bowling. Lanes Saturday evening. The prize winners were Edwin Miller, Mrs. Edwin Miller, Donald Bray and Mrs. Floyd Stewart. All *tit to the Burkley for lunch.
