The Lucan-Ilderton Jets
closed the regular Ontario
Hockey Association
Intermediate "B" schedule on a
dismal note in Durham, Sunday
afternoon.
The Jets were trounced 9-2
by the Durham Huskies and lost
almost all hope of finishing first
in the league standings.
The only hope for the Jets is
to have the FergusThistles upset
the Durham club in their last
game of the season.
At the moment, the Jets have
lost six times, while the Huskies
are only five in the important
loss column.
Another Durham loss, would
put the two top clubs even and
the Jets would gain the
important position on a better
goals average.
Barring a Fergus win, play-off
arrangements have been
tentatively set.
Durham and Cheltenham will
meet in a best-of-five series
while the Jets and Acton and
Elmira and Fergus are meeting in
bestof-five rounds.
The first game of play-off
action for the L I club will be at
Huron Park arena, Tuesday,
February 10 at 8:30 with the
Acton Tanners supplying the
opposition.
In their other action of the
week, the Jets trounced the
Fergus Thistles 11-4 in Fergus,
Friday.
ROBB LEADS SCORING
Jamie Robb won the league's
scoring championship with a
total of 68 points, gained on 38
goals and 30 assists.
Dave Webster was next in line
with 58 points while playing
coach Jack Nairn checked in
with 55 points.
