Quite frequently people are heard to
remark that time really flies, Well, we're
not quite sure if that is a true statement or
not. In this last column for the year 1969
and the 60's we are attempting to do a
review of the sporting highlights for the last
decade,
Time might really fly, but it took us
and our son a lot of time to page through
most of the more than 500 issues of the
T-A printed since January 1 of 1960.
Despite a lot of research, we probably
missed some important events and will
apologize in advance for some items that
we may have missed.
A few of the big changes in district
sports in the last ten years were the
construction of many new facilities.
Since 1960 began, a new arena was
built at Huron Park and curling rinks
sprung up at Huron Park and Exeter and
artificial ice was added to the Zurich arena.
Swimming pools were added at Exeter
and Lucan and ball lights installed in
Exeter, Lucan, Crediton and Dashwood.
Rodeo and saddle club facilities were added
to Exeter Community Park and two golf
courses were constructed in the immediate
vicinity of Exeter.
Following is a rundown of the
highlights of each of the, last ten years:

Osgood and Jim Crocker.

The weekly triple header at
