Santa and his wife appeared and distributed gayly wrapped parcels from under the tree. A bountiful buffet was served from decorated tables. By KIM PRIDHAM 3r. 6 — Exeter P.S. This is my vision of how Christmas would be celebrated in a Loyalist family: The crude log cabin in the woods quivered with the thought of Christmas. Somewhere in the woods an owl hooted, a wolf bayed. The pine and fir trees glistened with their new load of soft, sparkling snow. Inside the cabin all was silent. The warm fire crackled in the hearth and old Bowser lifted his drowsy head as a frightened little mouse scampered across the dusty floor. In the old, sooty brick oven the family's Christmas cake was toasting to a golden brown. Although everyone was sound asleep this Christmas Eve, all had wonderful thoughts of Christmas tickling their minds. Finally, dawn broke. The golden sun which was rising in the east caught the sparkle of spider webs in the dew, and turned them to diamonds. Everyone was suddenly out of bed and checking over their Christmas gifts. Although the family was poor, and each received only a small portion of food, and a small toy, all were, very happy. Bess, who was a shyl- 5-year-old girl was dressing her new doll in the corner and Matthew was playing "war" with the few army men and supplies he received. Afterwards everyone heartily consumed what little dinner there was. They then played a few games with much merriment and laughter, and finally, after everyone was exhausted they retired to their hard, wooden bunk beds. I hope this story makes clear to you the true meaning of Christmas as demonstrated by this Loyalist family. 3 Tractor Dept Fred Huxtable, sales PARTS & SERVICE Garry Anderson SERVICE Dalton Skinner Roy Hunter Lee Jciry Marwood Prest Bob McDonald Larry Snider Motors FORD, FAI Fi LANE, FALCON, FORD TRUCKS Where Your Patronage Is Appreciated NiaNta4ileilvme,,wea INOWAVriittio,00,VAzill*tgiOgia4glira4;a145,4040stANid NitMiliviMg• WAN:4 Va. • • S • 6 • THERE WILL 8E NO MILK DELIVERY ON THURSDAY, JAN. 1 Exeter Dairy PHONt 236-2144 LvAer,00salioNotogopm5lawg:**8 WitaINts Oka No Pl• VA.NistMAWAPii45.0410i,,AglAk:Ot4izt.
