Hoping these will be corrected without severe action being necessary, Signed By M.L. GIBSON Clerk Lucan follow the Otithia ARROW, LUCAN LEGION LETTER Pee wees winning Mickles handled the team, Every one of the players had at least a couple of turns on the ice regardless of their ability. Too many minor league coaches leave several bench warmers sitting out every game and use only their top-notch performers. Our congratulations to Carl and Manager John Moon. The Legion, and the parents, are fortunate to have such men coaching our kids. Our regular Saturday night socials are still gaining in popularity. This week will see the return of Lou and the Ramblers, a group that always packs the lounge. Comrade Carl has promised us regular entertainment every Saturday evening. Come out for an evening of fun. Four Lucanites attended the to fun and adventure By ART BATES We had the opportunity last week to attend two of our Lucan Le ion pee wee hockey games. Th.: first was a game in Lambeth, which our boys dropped by a close 5-4 score, and the other one was the regular Friday night game here in Lucan against the Exeter Legion pee wees. One has to be impressed with the calibre of play of these twelve-year olds. Our boys outskated, outplayed and outscored the Exeter team and held on to come out on top of a 6-4 score. These kids displayed a pleasing combination of skating, puck-handling and passing. This has got to be one of the sharpest pee wee teams we have encountered in years. Also very refreshing was the manner in which Coach Carl 1 About face about Irish 5th. place with 7, and Mitchel last with 6 points, In Minor Hockey last Friday night it was Lucan pee-wees 6 Exeter 4, in Bantam, Exeter 5 Lucan 0, in Midget Exeter 4, Lucan 0. In the Shamrock Novice League it was South-West London over Lucan 4-0. Huron East and Ilderton played to a scoreless tie and Exeter in first place with a 5-0 win-lost record, Lambeth is second with 4-0. Stoneybrook 3-1, Lucan 3-2, Ilderton 0-1-4, Dorchester 1-4, South-West London 2-3. It looks like Exeter is going to be the team to watch in this league, although it's a little early in the season to tell as yet. BY J.E. BURT After all the criticism I've been giving the Jr. (D) Irish 6 for time in the penalty box, I must do an about face and say they have done a marvellous job of staying on the ice. As a result they have 2 wins and a tie for their efforts in their last three games. Last Wednesday in Lucan they walloped Belmont 8-5. In Exeter. Friday night they had a real thriller by eking out a 6-5 win and at Zurich on Sunday they came away with a two all tie. This leaves them tied for second place in the league, with Belmont and Zurich with 9 points. Exeter is in first place with 14 points.
